I got a Y-Wing helmet from richiesarmor a couple weeks ago. Very cool kit. Just been a bit too busy to work on it at the moment. Hopefully it should be started by next week.

I'm going to try to paint it based on this particular Y-Wing helmet, minus the weird "radio free bolinas" thing in the front...

Started some painting. :)

I put down a white coat first, then masked off what need to be masked including some weathering/scratches.

As much as I like the helmet, I'm actually noticing the richies armor kit is way off regarding accuracy. Don't really care though, since I'm not going for complete accuracy anyway...

More painting done!

The green I got came out a lot darker than I thought it would. Maybe I can play a bit with the weathering to make it look better.

Thanks guys.

Started working on the writing on either side of the helmet and the top. Very tedious.

Got the writing done. All hand painted.
All I need to do now before the weathering is add the gray stripes near the front.

Added the gray stripes. I think I'm done now for the most part. I'll add the little detail bits about halfway through the weathering.

Just Dupli-Color spray paint and some acrylic paints for the writing and gray parts. Gets the job done. :)

Funny... I just got the weirdest sense of deja-vu. This is not the first time I've seen this paint-up... :eek
