Iron Studios Darth Vader, a superb 1/4 statue. Wasn't sure at first if I like it, but seeing more pics online, decided to go for it.

It looks fantastic, it really deserved the 2017 Statue of the Year award at Statue Forum. Accuracy is quite reasonable, considering this is not a prop replica (big chestbox and greenish eyes being the most pregnant), better than other statues and figures by other companies; the materials used seem to be high quality. It is one big heavy piece! I like the less mixed media present on this statue, you only have the pleather belt and the two fabric capes with wire, everything else is polystone. And the polystone is well sculpted and painted, showing intricate details of the costume. Excellent way of weathering the capes with snow, so much better than the Mythos orange Vader weathering.

You have multiple arms to choose from for your display, the most impressive remaining the option with the two hands on the lightsaber. The lightsaber itself is has powerful LED light and it can be turned on from the button on the back of the base - the same button also turns on the white spotlight on the base. The cape itself is huge, I mean really huge. It will take some time to fit it as you want behind Vader, but the snow weathering effect on it is superb. The Hoth inspired base is also very impressive on its own, having a cracked rebel base spotlight with a LED inside on the right side, excellent for further illuminating the statue, and some interesting looking damaged rebel equipment in the back. I think this might be one of the BEST Star Wars statues ever made, definitely the best Vader for now!

I decided to steam up the cape to remove the creases and tried to pose it the best I could so far, I think I might come back to it again ;). I also added 4 furniture pads on the base to protect it from scratches. Left hand is hard to remove if wanting to change the stance, the magnet is quite powerful, so be careful. Added 3 Panasonic Eneloop rechargeable batteries instead of the regular AA's, and removed all those tiny cell batteries from the belt and chestbox, which I'm afraid could leak in time. Wish the electronics would have used a single button, or at least a different way to turn on the belt and the chestbox, but I rarely use lights so is kinda ok.

Looks really cool. I'm wondering why they went with the Hoth look for the base, though. Wouldn't a Cloud City base be more suited for this?

Thanks guys. I kinda like the fact that they chose Hoth with Vader invading the rebel base. We've seen quite a few Bespin Vaders already from various statue companies
