That's a fantastic photo of Brian Muir with his most iconic work ever.
But I have to agree, his ultimate edition shown in this thread is "nice" overall, but the helmet center strip and widow's peak are just terrible. I'm really surprised he let that go. As a sculptor, I can easily look at the original and tell that that center strip (clay) was originally laid ontop of the rest of he helmet (probably clay) afterwards, and pressed down to conform into shape with the fingers with very little tooling. Why he would gouge out such deep creases for this ultimate edition is beyond me. …unless it is his idealized version?
BTW, I mean no disrespect to Mr. Muir or his work as a whole. I'm just very particular about this piece.
