Thanks for your vote of confidence. I'm humbled.

I would love to get involved with this project and would certainly do my best.

On a side note I'm working on my ESB MKII Stormtrooper moulds. I've had them for many years now but now have a workshop I'm able to complete the moulds.

Mark is a great guy and indeed he could do the job perfectly. Besides that he has a perfect communication every time. The GS owner could consider him as well for this.

Craigjohn, why do you think the RS helmet was distorted?
It is not.
The original helmets varied greatly helmet to helmet and the scan was cleaned up.

The RS guys know their craft. I would recommend them over anyone.
They have the most experience moulding original pieces and are very careful.

Well..agree and disagree.
The RS helmets are defintiv all different in shape.
There Styrene casts were very sharp but very fragile.
There PE helmets were sharp as well but the faceplate were wider as on the Styrene helmets.
And there ABS helmets are softer in details.

If you try to assemble a helmet cast from them to the original holes which also are casted in, the helmet will be totally out of shape.
So there definitv has to be some difference to there original helmet they have.

Geat helmet for sure, with great details, but in some kind yes ...a bit distorted.

What belongs to fiberglas casting in the UK, i have never seen such clean casts as they come from Mark.
Also what belongs to communication and reliability.
Would go for him as well.

Well I can honestly say there is no distortion with our helmets. Yes there was a learning curve and we've had to adapt with different uses of materials but over the passsed five years we've still kept true to the original with no clean up or reworks

Welcome aboard and thank you for chiming in. I had a good long discussion with a long time collector yesterday. :D

Gah. Forgot to kindly ask, and I'm the one who made the claim....

RS, since you're here. I'd love to see a decently detailed photo of your original screen used Trooper helmet and any current ABS Trooper helmet you pluck out of your shop side by side in the same photo.

This way, I can "look upon it with my own eyes". Would rather see it straight up than hearing it from various people unrelated to RS - one way or the other. :)

If you want, you could even shoot me the image in confidence in a PM. I won't share it with anyone else. :)

:cheers

As for working on vader this is something we'd be very interested in. We not only cast and finish the ultimate vader for Brian Muir, but we have team here with over 20 year experience in casting moulding and fibreglassing.

welcome, Siman. I proudly own a first run abs suit kit and 2 green helmet kits, unfinished, but i did build up a pvc kit i got. in trade from Rs yrs ago, built it to the cast in holes, it looks like an esb helmet this way, vertical face when viewed from the side, different plastics conform to assembly differently. imho

BUT LETS GET BACK TO THE VADER HELMET.

Yes for real! Lets try and stay on topic please.

RS makes great ANH/ ESB troopers but I would prefer Mark to handle this hands down. No offense to Siman but RS seems to have their hands full and the Brian Muir helmets leave a lot to be desired.

In the end is up to the owner of GS to choose what to do with the helmet. We can offer only suggestions, nothing more.
