This looks truly amazing! Old school vibe, and a great job at recreating the old designs as well as introducing new ones with the same feeling!

What about scene with red royal guards - there HAS to be some quick emperor or Vader scene in this flick.

Wow! Keep them coming Disney... this looks great! I recall some story or novel providing more background about the Royal Guards... that they were a different sect with their own agenda... perhaps not even specifically Imperial. But yah I agree most likely they are guarding one or both of our favorite villains not yet revealed. Brian Muir was hired to work on Rogue One after all.

Mon Mothma looks just like she did in Return of the Jedi. A new actress with impeccably similar looks or very well done CGI?

I love it when they transpose the old vehicles into a new setting. Like the TIE fighters in the desert in TFA. And here the Imperial walkers in the dense jungle environment, which makes a little bit more sense to use them here versus a surface of snow and ice ;)

I think Mon Mothma is the same actress from the ROTS deleted scenes

It is the same actress from the deleted scenes from ROTS, Genevieve O'Reilly. One of the rumor mill sites says "...the role has been re-cast with Genevieve O'Reilly, who looks dead-on like original actress Caroline Blakiston." She may have a substantial new role in Rogue One. We'll have to wait til December to know for sure!

Oh, and I made up the part about the Royal Guard not being Imperial. There's a lot of well referenced material from the expanded Star Wars universe regarding their backstory at http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Emperor's_Royal_Guard/Legends

Not to be un-politically correct, but seems like Disney is going overboard with strong heroine characters and lacking strong male hero characters. What do you think is the reason? To expand the marketability of the movies and merchandise to provide appeal to both sexes? Is Katheen Kennedy driving this to "make things right" to make up for the lack of well developed heroine characters from past Star Wars movies? Don't get me wrong, I liked Rey's character and Daisy Ridley's performance, but looks like Rogue One will continue with the heroine as the focal character. As long as the story and characters are great, it doesn't matter to me, just noting the apparent bias.

Looks really promising.

Regarding the lead role. It doesn't really bother me that we are seeing more female main characters and even leads that are strong and independent and not the typical damsel in distress. Heck... even Leia was strong and independent, so I like they keep that trend. Though, not everyone can or should be strong and independent and I often shake my head at the backlash from viewers when a woman is portrayed as a weak whiner. Can't all be heroes and heroines. :)

Well said NHM.

The roles were reversed in TFA. Finn was the damsel in distress, though he didn't know it. He was trying to protect Rey, but it was actually Rey who was protecting him (and herself) most of the time. But those characters and their relationship were pretty well developed I thought. Both had their fight or flight moments as they tried to find the right path.

I only saw TFA once at the theater, and I sort of liked it. I've since watched it on Blu-ray a couple of times and like it even more. I saw the prequels also once at the theater, and I sort of didn't like them. And each time I rewatch them I dislike them even more!

I hope Disney continues to revive that OT feeling in the next movies. They did a good job in TFA to restore it.
