Being converted like the scree used one this cannot fire anymore. But the trigger and selector move and is quite cool
Did they "destroy" it , or are just leaving some parts which could be made it fire again?
The moment you truly converted it by screwing and bolting the U tracks and other greeblies, this will never return to its original MGC Sterling shape. Neither did the screen used ones. I'm sure they were intentionally made this way, ILM had to do changes like these before with Baptys in Tunisia and MG-15 with removed inner barrels for the Sandies. For ROTJ E-11 they decided not to use real guns anymore and instead they used resin ESB Pugmans and MG Sterlings heavily converted.
I've seen other MGC conversions, but this is one of the most accurate out there - and TKBondservnt (FISD blaster expert) & OdiWan (RPF) both confirmed it. In other conversions people kept the bolt and spring and it might be able to shoot - which is inaccurate. Still the trigger on mine works fine and also the selector. But once you drilled holes in it, this will never be a true MGC again - you can have a total screen conversion like mine, or a partial conversion, not too accurate but it might still dry fire.
See below some pics of the screen used blaster, then some pics of an unmodified MGC, and you'll notice the differences. This was converted to be a true ROTJ E-11 replica as much as possible.
