@Turrican: I think Germany is ready when I look at the "Stuttgart 21" issue and your strong culture of "Buergerinitiativen". Sometimes I wish we had such strong movements in our country.
Since we have also a permanent All Parties system, things often goes very slow and at the end the outcome is an unusefull compromise. Also we're little to conservative and distrustful to others in general... Therefore I like the open minded style the Scandinavian countries and people have, but also the US style.

We will know on Tuesday whether Danmark has suffered a coup at the hands of the politicians with the passing of the current freedom of information act. A vote regarding pulling out the two dangerous paragraphs was voted down today by a majority of our politicians - with sly smiles of victory all around. Nothing has stopped these traitors from steamrolling this law forward - not even mass demonstrations and signatures, and regardless of revelations regarding what types of scandals won't ever be revealed after the passing, and one of the parties were all offended by the recent revelation that a politician had withheld the information for the politicians, which was revealed through the media gaining access to documents, but moments later they voted down the proposal that would have removed those paragraphs and ensured future revelations - the hypocrites.

If the people don't wake up now and issue a general strike... it will be civil war and it will be bloody! And I fear for our future.

I'm participating in the debates regarding two new political parties and one of them in particular and hoping they'll get enough signatures to be able to get elected... at least that one is heavily looking at Switcherland and their type of direct democracy as a basis for some of their party principles.

I don't know. I hate politics... even moreso these days, but I refuse to live under tyranny or dictatorship.

Currently the politicians have a limited "free space" where they can discuss ideas and thoughts for legislation without the public being allowed access to those documents in some cases - I find that repulsive. The politicians are now wanting to expand that free space to exclude any and all such documents and discussions from being revealed, basically closing the public's ability to know what lies behind any and all law propositions. It means they will be able to deny insight into everything they do and many larger cases that came out due to our right to get access will no longer come out, meaning that the politicians have secured their own assess from being burnt and they can do any and all illegal, dishonest and manipulative work without ever being able to be held accountable for bad or damaging laws. They free themselves, while they demand total transparency and total control over the citizens. And they are putting in a veto-right regarding potential future changes to get rid of those paragraphs.

This is dictatorship. And I don't know what to do. and with everything else that is happening and all the other things the politicians are doing, I no longer feel safe in my own country.

This is indeed a sad day. How to react to this is the question.

We have our own version of this at an obscene and unprecedented level here in the States. We are intimidated, indoctrinated, controlled and investigated in many aspects of society. I'm in shock, not so much that China had taken t upon themselves through NALL warships and arms western countries to contain the U.S., but why evil the US GOvernment has become without us ordinary citizens knowing about it.

If you care about the worlds' rights, then STOP TISA and all other free trade negotiations that will give corporations near unlimited power over us all. (with English subtitles) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZgP8mGSt8s

I know the various signature/people's voice sites aren't so smart to put up here, but right now there is one regarding the free trade negotiations between USA and EU, where EU asks its citizens whether corporations should be allowed to sue states and countries in secret courts. It's surprising that the EU apparently bows down to corporations and allow them to become so powerful that they can challenge freely and democratically elected government and laws, that are there to secure our health and environment. Corporations has proven that they only care about monetary gain at the expense of people, fair wages, the environment, laws and everything that's decent. EU should be working to limit corporations' influence and power and split them up by law if they get too big to threaten our democratic ways.

Help to stop the madness.

And just got this message from the petition that has run for a while that the deadline to write in has been extended.

*
Good news: we’ve confirmed the EU has received your reply to their consultation on TTIP - the trade deal that could end up being one of the biggest corporate power grabs in history.

You weren’t the only one. Over 25,000 SumOfUs members across Europe replied - so many they’ve had to extend the deadline for getting responses. The extra time means we can still convince more people to fill in the form, to make our message even more powerful.

Let’s get 10,000 more comments before the consultation closes on Sunday.
