The topic ESB Dome Positioning - Bespin vs. Hoth brings to mind other places where Vader's helmet looks a bit unusual, or at least different from what we'd normally see. In the scene in ESB just before Vader detaches a large fixture from Cloud City and force-ibly hurls it at Luke, the closeup of Vader looks strange to me:

I'm thinking it's a mirrored Stunt helmet.

Stunt because both cheeks appear black with the thick Perspex outline.

Mirrored based on the general impression of it's backwards asymmetry (the longer-looking side of the dome on the wrong side, the direction of the droop of the lower lip, the size and shape of the eyes, and the launch point and angle of the start of the eyebrows from the nose bridge).

Yup, it is indeed the mirrored stunt helmet. There are several flipped scenes in all three movies.

I found another example of this wonky helmet while going through some of my old trading cards:

Doesn't look very wonky when turned the right way round.....

Indeed. And we can confirm the flipped image is the correct one by the red chest plate button being on the right side as we look at it.

I always thought this helmet looks quite suspect to me:

It's the ESB reveal.

All those bolts screws and washers - I never noticed them before in the front view. Definitely a different look - the neckless Vader. And looking a tad bit constipated. "I want that shi* not excuses!"

Also notice the big gap where the mouth section doesn't join properly with the chin/neck piece....AND the black, unpainted nose!

May be caused by the tusk tube sections being part of the lower half, making the upper half not be able to lower down flush. May be why they changed it for RotJ.
