Sounds interesting Kraig. I'd be very interested to see them...

Thomas, I am not really interested in selling it. I'd ask for alot more than what it was worth. I do want to build some sort of display for it though. I am open to ideas.

Cool Steve. Any plans to try and get the rest of the body armor for a full display? Awesome nonetheless.

Yea, I'd love to Pete... even replica stuff, but just haven't gotten around to it. Probably just be another project that would take me a decade to finish... :rolleyes

Here's a couple m ore shots. I've been comparing pics with another collector, and his helmet is made later on in production, with a different finish and the circuit board located right behind the mouth grill. Even the trimming of the plastic parts is alot different. Funny to see such a vast difference in assembly.

Just wow. :eek

Well, I'm sure if it went through PIH or someone like that it would fetch a pretty penny. Consider the history of BattleStar Galactica with the new series that came out and there is an entire new generation of fans, similar to Star Wars. It is an iconic villain original helmet. But I can understand the desire to keep it.

Sorry for taking so long, I've been out of control with work lately. Also, my camera's not the best, it has a kind of "fish eye" effect, I'll get a good one one day.

Warning: These images may be distressing...

I've had them for a few years now, but they've just been sitting on a shelf under other stuff, I hadn't had a really good look at them until today, in fact, I had totally forgotten about them until I saw your wonderful helmet in this thread.

Cheers,

Kraig

No worries Mate, they're really rough but repairable. Remnants of the holes drilled into the helmet for the actors to see through are visible and I'd assume that each helmet was unique in that area so we should be able to tell if it was recast from the helmet you or Sporak did. I'd really like to know if it is, it would be disappointing if they're recasts, but I don't want to carry on thinking that they're something they're not. Do you have any photo's of those helmets or the moulds?

Cheers,

Kraig

They look pretty authentic to me, at a glance, and not what I was talking about regarding the mold I made... Thanks for sharing. :)

PHEW! Thanks Steve!

Sorry for hijacking your thread, it wasn't my intention.

Well if that's a hijack I'd have to say it was one of the best I've ever seen. This is turning out to be a great thread, to see both an original helmet and molds taken from an original....wow. More hijacks please! :lol

Thanks for posting the photo of the inside; it's like peeking back stage at the theatre :toothy
I don't know why, but a I've always assummed that all the electronics were mounted above the eye slot but the crest is an obvious place to put things when you think about it (maybe I should try thinking about things a bit more :lol )

This is an incredible piece. I'm not surprised you don't want to part with it.

Thanks again.
