This was such an interesting approach, I had to share it.

My preferred method is to use a sandblasting cabinet to contain fiberglass dust in addition to a face dust mask. However, some people care less about dust containment and more about freedom of movement. This is an interesting face an air-filtering face-shield system that will require prefilters (which the site sells).

For situations where you are sanding something that does not fit into a sandblasting cabinet, this might be a good alternative.

Good find. And yes, NEVER sand or trim anything without some form of adequate respiratory protection! :thumbsup

And with these things it isn't enough to just use the white dust masks, you need one with a carbon filter, that can be gotten as a similar style to the regular dust mask, in grey, or you can get the larger style that's a bit more expensive.

But the one Mac found also protects your eyes, so you can see while working and not getting dust specs in your eyes that are hazardous and can cause irritation and possibly inflammation.

As said, personal protection is and should always be first on the list. I have been working with fiberglass and automotive finishes for nearly 30 years. And I know that I would not be able to go on long walks with my wife today if I did not start taking care of what I was breathing into my body many years ago. No BS.

Another good, less expensive version is this product. It may be better suited to the DIY hobbyist for limited use.
