A little more info on the bust could greatly make any help and advice easier.

The Clubhouse forum is especially great source of reference and a lot of skilled artists to help you.

Usually... requests for help goes in the prop sections, as this is more a section for if you have a tutorial that can help others.

Regardless... I believe there was a show-off of a Reveal Anakin in the Vader props section... surely the painter could help you out with some tips?

I haven't got the power... gotta ask an admin for that.

But we can still discuss it until they do.

Well... so, you basically need painting advice!? You know the colors you'd use or do you want advice on that too?

For this character you need to work in layers - basic tone / then veining, shades and texture / and then a top layer. He needs to be quite pale... but having been enclosed in the mask for so long also a bit icky colored. The old scars should be a mix of purple and red (mostly red) and very pale as well.

Oh wow, completely forgot about this thread. Sorry about that. How is it going with the painting? Sorry I didn't give more and better advice.

For regular skin tones, you should check this site - http://www.theeffectslab.com/skinpainting.htm - in case it's not too late and you've sold the bust in the meantimes, since this is a 2-year-old thread and I don't know the current status.

What is needed is layering. Subtle layering with veining and spots and break-up of perfect uniform color palette. Since he's burnt, scarred, having healed up, and having lived within a helmet for the better part of 40 years or something, you should do a pale damaged skin with lots of veining showing and dark blended bags under his eyes and very light red and brown and white for the scar tissue. Basically... look at pictures of old nasty, gnarly scars to see if you can distinguish colors and how to paint it to make things convincing.

So... how's the bust coming along or did you already paint it?
