I've been meaning to start this topic about the black and white Vader photos more recently offered by OfficialPix. Some are pretty good and offer a bit more resolution....meaning more to study!
After having studied a few of them a bit I have an observation here and there but will have more time on the weekend to show what I mean as well. In the meantime I was wondering if anyone else had something they discovered from them?

Hmm, for me, I just love a release of pics like that and it's been a very long time coming. I'm not sure if I learnt too much other than seeing a nick or something chipped for a particular scene I hadn't noticed before from that angle but I think overall it just supports what is already out there from either a different view or higher rez in the case of some pics. I ended up spending near $500 with all sizes etc which is a bit harsh but my treat is to leave my prints for Christmas day despite seeing them scanned online, I couldn't wait.

Some of the best reference for ESB fans in particular that came out of 2-3 pics and a great job from Official Pix to put this out there.

Agreed...even if you hit paydirt on a couple of images, it makes it all worthwhile. Sheesh did you get all of them? I got most of the good ANH and a few of the ESB and one of the ROTJ, all 8x10. The only one I got in a large size...16x20 was OT-BW-240 of Vader walking in the hallway. However I wasn't entirely pleased with the printing quality...almost as if they used a color printer and just hit the B&W setting but didn't make any other adjustments. In a few of them the tonal range wasn't that great, leaving the dark areas too dark. But still a great resource. Did you get any non-Vader photos? I got the AT-AT driver one just because it was so definitive.

I got all the Vader ones, most in all sizes but I didn't get the Star Wars ones as I only collect Vader which is just as well as that would've been serious money. I like all the SW stuff but I really just focus on Vader.

Hmmm....well I don't see it. Can you point out which of the photos shows that and we'll have a look...

Well two things I learned is that the worm or sausage is on the right cheek during filming of the TIE fighter scenes near the end of the ANH production.

Thats too true. Vader is expansive enough. Got my second parcel from the custom office yesterday

Yep The ANH Has a worm and often hidden from view. There is a rumour of 2 ANH helmets being used during filming as the worm is not present in most shots and could be an illusion caused by the crease and light, a blob is present and can be found in quite a few shots. The ESB hero has 2 significant worms.

From what I have been able to tell, and I checked more times than I can remember, the mask appears consistent throughout. However, I think there was a change in the dome...

But if you or someone else thinks there was a second one onscreen, it would be interesting to start a new thread about that as I'd like to see why it is thought so...

No, I don't think that it's something that's been suggested but I await for that person to come up with their theory as it's theirs to share. We've all covered these things over the years.
