In this picture it is clear to see that also the TIEs weren't assembled identically... some have higher brow than others... wonder if there are other differences as well.

The reality is that EVERY helmet produced by AA for ANH was different in some way. The various Stormtrooper helmets I've handled totally bear this out.

Given every helmet was hand pulled, cut/trimmed, assembled, finished/painted I suppose its not surprising

Cheers

Jez

I think the LAWS face looks narrower because the top of the faceplate curves inward. I marked this with the white lines. I heated the sides up and pulled them outward closing the gap. Makes some difference in my opinion.

Jez,

Sorry mate I never got a chance to get pics of the IH next to the SDS. I only met IH the once when I was staying in Ireland and to be honest I only really popped in with Anson to show off and chat about a studio scale X-Wing kit (IH is a big time scratch builder of models - he had some amazing huge Star Wars models all scratch built). The TIE helmet pieces IH had were not assembled either when I compared the helmets.

I took the SDS TIE along as I knew he had made one. IH compared his and he noted a few things that could improve his. I really hope he does modify his moulds to omprove on an already excellent helmet.

I have since moved back to Scotland and brought most of my props home including the SDS TIE helmet so won't get a chance to do comparison pics. If IH does make any more kits I will definitely get one and get comparison pics.

Cheers Chris.
