The helmet looks outstanding, and the paint job is to be applauded.

That being said, I couldn't help but notice that the neck profile seems very parallel, making the neck look very thick. Is this somehow the photography, or is the helmet actually that way? Is it the lighting? I was under the impression that the neck should "hourglass" or curved inwards on the sides.

Perhaps try to photograph it on a black surface so that there is less light reflecting back up onto the neck.

Oh... I think there are at least 2 or three different helmets shown in that photo line-up.

It would definitely be easier for people to distinguish between them if a name was attached to each row of pictures... hint hint! :lol

Thanks all! I was going to edit and label each one, but that would have been a nightmare with the thumbnails and all. If you have your status bar turned on in internet explorer, just hovering over the picture should tell u which helmet it is down in the lower left corner. If you select the picture, it will be in the address bar in the window that opens. In the pictures before full-sized Darth, it basically goes; JBV2, SPFX (as finished by Phil), VaderMaker 1, Full-sized Darth wearing the SPFX (as finished by Phil).

Every picture after that is of the raw SPFX that I finished. It's still funny to me how different the lighting can make the helmet look. About the necks, part of it could be the pics, but they're pretty subtle in the hourglass shape.

Yes, so there's four helmets there.... Some people do drugs.... I buy a Darth Vader helmet every few months or something. :toothy

Can I ask if either any of these four helmets feature an extended or longer-than-normal flange?

Sorry. I must have missed this question. I'm not sure I know exactly what flange you mean?

The flanges on the dome. It's because some believe that the ANH has longer flanges than the ESB...
