Working on the 3D models to get the last few parts ready for printing. I need to finish the work on the symmetrical and RotJ grill model and then I'll be ready to contact the printing company to get these final bits done for my scaled project. I originally didn't want to do the RotJ Vader, but decided I might as well go for the full set.

Back at work on the 3D models. Working on adding the smaller grill to the two-layer RotJ grill setup. It may not even show up in the sixth scale prints and I'll ask the printing company whether they think it is worth it, but I like to have my models as close to accurate as possible. I may also do the RotJ fix to the dome ring (which you'll never see anyway) seen on some RotJ helmets where it has an inner lip at the bottom where the screws are attached, compared to the ESB that has the screws on the outside.

It took most of today to scale, orient and trim the smaller grill and contacted a few who know more than me on whether it looked correct. Waiting to hear back from all of them to see whether it's all good or I need to redo it. The pictures I've seen has a similar step-style grill to ANH, only smaller, some have it placed vertically behind the larger grill, others have it horizontal (this is the style I went with), another had rod-style grill similar to the stuff seen in Stormtrooper mic tips, whereas the RotJ reveal has a completely different style altogether and would have been difficult for me to replicate with the models I have already.

This is about the last bits I need to do before contacting the printing company to get the last bits printed and shipped directly to the producer.

Latest prints. I noticed I had made a mistake with the RotJ chest box when the model was sent to the printing company, so that will be redone.

Will keep everyone posted on more updates.

These look really cool! :thumbsup Have you thought about the possibility of selling even parts such as helmets? Ho will you only make the complete statue?

We are starting with full armor kit sets in the beginning to make things easier for ourselves, but eventually we'll sell individual parts, such as helmets individually and armor. The statue is something I'm still working on. Just thinking it would probably be easier if I go completely digital, as it's difficult for me to work on the printed bodies.

Paul even suggested we print everything and not just the boxes, sabers and accessories, so I sent him most of the models and we'll see how that goes.

Sorry, I was asked not to mention the printing company I use.

Latest update on the project. Since we switched to printing I've received a few pictures of the progress that has left me pleased with the whole thing. I cannot wait for this to be ready. We are starting slow and try to do small runs of already made parts - we are going for full sets at first, as that will be easier for us. Eventually we can do single orders. Though I'll discuss this further with Paul regarding what they think is best. We ran into some issues with the 3D models for home printing, so I have been steadily trying to fix the ones Paul found to create errors in the prints, so everything will be perfect.

Here are a few pictures of some of the prints.
