Hi everyone, my name is David! I apologize in advance for my terrible English! From an early age my hero was Darth Vader, so my passion led me to try to sculpt the face of my favorite characters! this is my first time I sculpt something, it's just a test to see if I can do it! I created an armor to support the sculpture by inserting aluminum paper and cardboard inside a Rubies helmet, to try to give it a more or less correct measure and save on the plasticine! I'm using a product called plaxstin, of medium hardness that does not harden, and to sculpt I use my hands and some tools that I stole from my mother in the kitchen! For the shape I'm relying on photos and screen from the ESB film, but I'm not sure of the result, so I wanted to ask if anyone knows the original helmet size! I would be interested in the width and height of the triangle of the snout, and maybe the width and height of the nose measured inside! I attach some photos of the project, I'm still at the beginning, and I foresee a lot of work in front of me, but I give myself a lot of fun for now! :toothy

Edit: I changed the size of the photos to better visualize them.

Added the pipes on the left side, I made them rolling the plasticine, and then fixed with pins!

Coming along nicely. Currently I'm not seeing anything that needs much suggestions, as your pictures shows improvement going in the right direction, so I'm just enjoying watching your progression. Shape is really good, details are good and you can definitely see "the look" in your sculpt, even in this stage. Keep up the great work. :)

If you need any reference and specific angles, please don't hesitate to ask.

Absolutely agree! I'm enjoying your progress photos as well. You can really see "The Look" as we say.

I noticed that the triangle of the mouth is slightly crushed, and the nose I think a little tight and tall! someone knows the internal width and height of the precise cast nose like TM for example? :rolleyes

Edit: sorry I read only now in the forum that the information I requested on certain helmets like TM could be private, I was not aware and I apologize! :thumbsup

Hey, don't be sorry. It's okay to ask for these things, people may just not be able to post about it. Sadly, I don't have measurements.

I'm not sure what you mean by the triangle of the mouth being crushed.

ok thank you I misunderstood, I thought you could talk about this in the private section alone! I explain better with a photo, I tried already to modify it, I widened the nose and raised the height of the mouth, and so reflects more the original, the photo on the right is the result after work!

There is no private section anymore. It has been opened up to all users to view and post in.

But yeah, the new version looks better. Btw: the nose indent should be the size of Brian Muir's thumb, so if you can get measurements of that it would help a great deal. If not, you could always just use your own. :thumbsup
