So, what is known about this helmet?

Allegedly it is cast of a screen used helmet and imo, it certainly looks the part, moreso than most other helmets - it certainly has many of the knicks and dents matched to the screen helmet, though, unfortunately the story goes that the dome tabs were sanded down and the dome ring attached.

I have no reason not to believe that the history of this helmet is correct, but of course... I don't know for sure.

Any thoughts?

Hey Carston, do you have another photo you can post of this helmet?

Yeah, since all my pictures got nixed when Photobucket decided to make all their accounts payer-based, I can direct you to this thread with pictures of the DJ helmet - second post - gallery-of-authentic-castings-vt2909.html

God I hate photo bucket. Please someone send me all the files and I'll securely host them so people don't have to get that stupid damned site with all their retarded ads.

Speaking of such, can someone recommend a good free photo hosting site?

Flickr or Facebook. You can start a FB page, personal or business, and set up specific albums to post photos.

I use both Flickr and my FB page.

Flickr is a photo hosting site, so the compression algorithms are much better than Facebook.
