This is wonderful. If this is ever offered as a wearable kit please let me know. I'm sure there would be a market for it. :)

Will this ever be a release to the public as a 3d model? That would be pretty useful.

There are rumblings of potentially making a full scale helmet kit available, but nothing decided yet. There will definitely be a 1:6 scale version made to go with the scaled project I'm doing.

The 3D file will not be shared, sorry.

If a full size kit is made, I'd be in for one too.

,

This 3D file would be as valuable to the Vader helmet clone market as the Death Star plans to the Rebellion. While it would be of interest to Vader enthusiasts with no such intent, I fully appreciate and agree that it should not be made public. Otherwise there would soon be a clone army of them. That wasn't the end goal or intent, I think, but more about sharing the success of a very personal and unique long term project with a community that appreciates both the scope of effort and the result. Note: This isn't meant to be critical for anyone making the request to make it public (doesn't hurt to ask!).

First ever 3D printed truly symmetrical Vader face mask. I am in the process of leveling the print lines with putty primer. It does soften some details such as the three nose ridges and the nail marks underneath his eyes, but I'm getting a smooth surface and can fix those afterwards. The pictures were taken shortly after the second primer application, so I haven't sanded it yet, so the lines are showing more than they would after a good sanding. The cool thing about the primer is that it self-levels, so neatly fills up the recessed areas and makes things nice and smooth in the end.

This one turned out pretty cool. Almost in shadow. A real mood shot.

I love the wonkness of Vader's Face, as opposed to not seeing Anakin's face (Shaw, not the new kid) it gave him depth. If you look at the suttle features, you'll note Vader's Mask changes from mean, uncompromising to remorseful. I don't know of this was intentional or just just variations in the casting process, iether way I like how it worked out.

Man, this is gorgeous, and I'm sure as the Empire would have intended for their Dark Lord's helmet. I would love a wearable kit of this.

I'm sure it will look even greater than great after the finishing touches are applied. Given the symmetry I was thinking if you photographed it then do a difference overlay a left/right mirror flip of the same image and tweak the levels a bit you could highlight any differences that might need extra sanding etc. Probably an unnecessary step, but it did produce this interesting very moody result. Feel free to do an admin delete if you don't want this Gothic Hellraiser Mad Max Vader cluttering the thread. It's a bit out there! But you wouldn't get these interesting artifacts without the symmetry.

Heh, looking cool. Well, I'm not gonna fiddle more with the printed model. I just wanted to test the quality and detail sharpness my printer was capable of. I will have the model professionally printed by the same guys who printed all my other pieces for the scaled Vader project, so the quality will be consistent and top notch.

Progress. All pieces printed and glued together. Now I just have to fill the seams and make it pretty.
