Welcome back to the two-tone paint job as well. The more I look at it, the more I like it. It's infinitely better than ROTS Vader - and as I had originally expected - a bit of a hybrid between the ANH and ESB versions.

The codpiece looks off, but the overall look of the suit is very nice imho

I like this one. Most of the art is based on a real image. Really like how he looks here. This is supposed to be from Rogue One. And the trailer as he walks toward Krennic he's wearing the inner tunic over the armor like ANH. But earlier in the movie he's wearing it under the armor like most of the images. His Hasbro Rogue One figure he's wearing it over armor like ANH too. Image Image

Looks like they sent the helmet EFX to mimic their PCR paint job.

It sort of looks like a pet doggie door. Perhaps for a wiener dog?

Sorry I couldn't help myself. Making jokes about that codpiece is just too easy. Like low-hanging fruit. Dang it!

The fit of the helmet could have been made so much better by simply adding some foam rubber inside the top of the dome. Something like the clover leaf foam used in the OT stormtrooper helmets would have worked fine. But we only have a few weeks to see how it will look on screen to see if they fixed it.

Why is it (almost) no one can make a decent ANH codpiece? I just don't understand. I think I might like the ROTS cod better than this one, if the one above is the real deal. :banger

I've seen photographs of the Hot TOYS Vader figure and they have done something very strange to the shin armour. It looks like they have extended the length and there is a visible line between where they should end and the extension.

Saw this article linked over at the RPF so I figured I'd post it here in case anyone missed it. Visual Effects director John Knoll discusses the Rogue One Vader costume (I like his rationalization that Vader keeps multiple sets of armor -- makes perfect sense):

That's what I've been saying all along, but people have it in their minds "he can never change up his outfit" even though he's proven to in a few movies already.

Vader wouldn't want to offend his dinner guests on Bespin by wearing smelly scratched up battle used ANH armor. You think Tauntauns stink? Whewwww! Vader probably has a long closet full of armor a la Johnny Cash and Men in Black. Interesting article.
