So I did some searching through my reference material and found that I had a photo of this helmet from January 2007. And I know about the crew member you are talking about. But if it is the person I'm thinking of, why would they be asking about it here when they themselves have said what it is?

Perhaps fishing for a Value? An investor?

Interesting indeed.

Turns out this didn't belong to the crew member I thought and I'm hoping the person who knows about this will chime in here...

So now we know of at least two ROTJ's out there :thumbsup

A great find !
Are the streets on the dome caused by a layer of black paint? Same for the mask- does it have a coat of paint on them?
If so This would've a good candidate for a a paint strip.

If not- where did the streaks on the dome come from?

GS memento Helmet would be a good name as they are my initials.
GSM for short. Also the S and M alluding to the two guys surnames that have shown interest and helped me along the way to sharing my story .

On the horizon possibly but first and foremost is taking in as much advice as possible from everyone on this forum.
I will throw this out there that this is a production made 1st generation casting from the master positive Uk mould and the dome has been reworked for rotj (just an opinion  )
After hours of cutting away at the fibreglass fusing the two pieces together I managed to separate them even though there was additional bonding I could not get to.
There is a lot of cleaning up to do and further analysis which I if interested I will share along the way.

One thing I'd do before going too far with the clean up is make a mold of this helmet "as is" so (in a way) you have it archived, and you can bring it back (or create a new cast) of this helmet in this state - if you wish.

Should we change the thread name to GSM Vader and move it to the authentic cast forum? :D
