7 years and 3 months later, and I just read through this entire thread. EGADS! What a beautiful transformation. Too bad DP didn't release this exact helmet back in the day. ...too bad Anovos doesn't sell something this bloody damn good. :lol

Yep a great example of some of the fine work many of the guys on here are capable of. And helpful to others in similar pursuits. NoHumorMan and dcarty in particular were quite helpful to me early on providing guidance how to trim down the mounting tube on my DPDLX to make the dome placement more accurate. And the end result of a relatively trivial mod was like owning a new, and vastly better, helmet. It's still no TM, but much better looking to me.

Thank you all again for the compliments! It's very humbling to have your work appreciated and enjoyed and I'm always happy to help with whatever questions I can answer.

For a while I gave serious thought to the idea of casting and selling copies but in the end I felt that there were just too many factors against the idea -- chiefly that there were too Vader helmets out there to make it practical. Now it's even more so with efx (and whatever efx bootlegs may be floating around) and the Quasimodo helmet as the king of the fan made helmets.

As of now he's on his way to a new home and I couldn't be happier that it's with our friend Juan!

Dave

Yeah, you're right Dave.

There are more than enough good Vader helmets out there, that makes it hardly worth while investing in molding materials, fibreglass, and most importantly ... time.

With so many good options we may as well leave it to those vendors.

Alan.

Glad to hear it will remain in the Vader-fan family with someone who will appreciate it. Will go great side by side with his upgraded DPCA.
