Thanks guys! I got a bit distracted and for a minute forgot about this thread I started.

Sadly the JMC helmet had to go, but all for the greater good to come. In the mean time I've replaced it with (believe it or not) a DPCA and the spare dome. Keep in mind I'm going for a ROTJ, so I finally installed a cape hook and got the accurate cape chain. These are the only changes you will notice on the display pictured.

However I'm already working on some pieces and waiting for other upgrades to arrive. First off I was able to get these chest boxes, as the one on the display right now is an improvised ESB box shape with ROTJ configuration. Well now I've got both versions properly pu together. Just a little paint and some love and they are good to go.

On their way to me are 2 sets of Hammond aluminum boxes with correct proportions, accurate silver buttons for the belt boxes and a pair of accurate ROTJ leather gloves. Oh and supper talented Dave is taking care of my ROTJ helmet which I'm sure will look amazing.

Overall I'm really happy to finally see this display take shape and define itself as a ROTJ, after so many years of putting off the project. Now I'm actually thinking of doing a second display for an ESB version. I'm just not sure if I want to go full or just the bust. Either way I'm really happy with how everything is looking.

They were from a seller called Propsandtoys on the bay. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to Portumac but wasnt he doing CNC Metal boxes?

here is the ROTJ box finished and already on the display.

Its a dangerous game to be this OCD in this hobby. You have no idea how many piece I've had to re-start mid WIP cause I'm too inpatient. I'd say this box came out great considering its a one day project.

Propsandtoys get his stuff from Portumac and Portumac is a recaster scumbag.
All what he has done in past is just a copy of someones other work.
So those boxes you have there are recasts of DarkSide and ACE Replica parts.
Both are a member here on the board as well.
So i would not recommend to say those parts look "nice"

But's that just me.

Another problem that you run into in this hobby is that a lot of the original producers and their re-casters have been around for a very long time and knowing the full history behind those parts can be very foggy.

I had no idea This seller was distributing Portumac but at the same time I had no idea Portu was recasting. I've been away for a while and I was never really interested in Portumac stuff, so I never really paid attention when ever his name popped up.

Definitely THANKS for the information. I will definitely not be buying anything from this seller again. Thats why we are all here, right? To share the info. I am a full time freelance artist and have dealt with plagiarism all through out my career. So I know first hand how much it sucks to see other people making money claiming artistic license over something I created.

I'll PM you Turrican

It was no direct offence to you in any kind.
Sorry if that had sound this way.

I just had my own experience with portumac, as he also recasted stuff i needed to researched and build years for and later claimed it was all done by himself as
"the best improvement ever made".

Also cause of this i never will be sharing anything else again to anyone other i not know personaly.
I also deleted my Sithlorddetachmentaccount, cause there are also to many guys arround which just soaking infos out of everyone else,
call it "knowlege sharing" and than give those infos to guys like portumac, that he can offer cheaper recasts for them, also in trade for a "discount".
As they are not willing to pay the bit higher amount, or accept the time it takes to make those parts as it seems from the original makers.
That's a few reasons why i'm so pissed of to see any stuff from portumac and his buddys arround the propboards.

So again, nothing against you personal.

Very nice. I had to compare your pics very carefully to notice the swap-out of the mask. I'm still having trouble believing that's a DPCA! Amazing work. And I do understand when proportions aren't exactly right it can be one of those things that will just grind on you until you find a way to fix it.
