Not just the dome, but what about that extra vader faceplate since you can see the original one in the background. I'll take a guess and say it's an ESB dome and faceplate, but just speculation of course.

Since the faceplate is being held up by a dark headpiece it's possible, as Mike is saying, that the lenses are taking up the color of what's behind. Hard to say at this point.

The repaint is interesting me.. The original brush marks as well as the paint glitch on the front silver cheek are all gone now for the most part, (unless it's the lighting in the video) although there still seem to be some streaks in the paint on the forehead. I assume the new paint was sprayed on, but then if so how come the streaks above the eyes?

I'd also like to know where that infamous little blob of filler stuck in the top corner of the middle tooth came from. It's not present in the Corbis shots so wasn't there during filming but the Corbis shoot shows what looks like fairly bad damage to the top of the teeth, so perhaps when they were repaired a spot of filler got left behind in there on the mesh?

As to the eye lens colour, this video doesn't give much away there sadly, but one clue may just lie in the tiny halo of light around the reflection on the right lens in one of Carsten's screencaps and in the corners of the eyes. There seems to be a yellowish tinge there that reminds me of the ROTJ Reveal's lens colour.

So much to digest!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that is most likely the ANH dome. The paint sheen looks very close to the chronicles photo. Pure speculation or wishful thinking on my part..

It doesn't appear to have the bottom curve of the ANH. Seems much more consistent with either an ESB or RotJ dome to me. I always took the face mask in the background to be the ANH face mask.

Interesting to note the strapping that they are using to hold the helmet onto the display head. At first i wondered if it might be the original straps but i can't imagine that they'd be putting any stress on straps that old.

I'm just so excited that the theory I was trying to gather evidence to back up that the ANH Vader helmet had been turned ESB is now debunked as that would have been painful to actually confirm that theory. So glad it's still ANH... and still looking great. It's like jumping up and down in the chair excited... except... it's just requiring too much energy to do that, so I'm just thinking it! :lol :ac10

I wonder if anyone is doing this topic naked. Just a hunch.

BUT - I did get a chance to hold the Paul Allen stunt helmet and those eyes are colored. I think it is called "bronze," that color plastic.

The photos of the mask next to the Indy whip - that eye color is much more clear than what I saw in the stunt face.

It was a flash photo. I'm sure if you put the stunt face on the same color carpet and took a flash photo that the carpet color would make the lens color look less amber. I think someone did a test of that once... unsure where I saw it or who did it... so I might have imagined it.

Anyone know the book the collector keeps referring people to? Does it contain a lot about his Star Wars props or is it mostly about all his other awesome props?
