I was at a slumber party the night this premiered. What TOTAL CHEEEZ WHIZ. Wow!

Nice footage of Eller in Vader suit there. Great angles though low res.

Yeah, it would be cool if they were re-aired in better resolution. Seems it's a copy off a Betamax or VHS recording.

The great thing about it - which duplicates what we see in ANH, is the shimmery quality of the helmet, armor, etc. It has an overall look of black metal. There have come to be lots of folks getting the two color patchwork correct to the point of overlooking how it orchestrates into a "read" of metal.

I think this is one of the problems with the ROTS chest armor in that it has admittedly become a play of black and silver.

Here's another funny one -

Growing up one might recall their dad or grandfather or any old weird guy standing with their thumbs in their belt at the front of their pants. It is a stance you see every so often.

This is what Vader is doing in various poses. Prowse just standing casually.

But, it has turned to folks trooping as Vader actually standing or walking around holding onto their boxes - not thumbs in the belt with hands incidentally draped over the box belts - actually holding onto the boxes! It looks pretty bad and out of character.

Another way that the game of Telephone turns accuracy into absurdity. We are all guilty of it!

I was all good with campy 70s Star Wars variety show romp... until the stormtrooper dance troupe finger snapped their way West Side Story-style to the stage. No trooper should besmirch the Imperial image with such frivolity! I can only assume that Redd Foxx must have used a Jedi mind trick on them.

Actually they were pretty good! Especially considering the limited visibility.

@darthjones I'm thinking it may have originated from the days when men wore suspenders. It would be natural to loop your thumbs under them in a casual stance. Im guessing in the transition to just wearing belts the old habits remained.

The suspenders thing makes total sense. Absolutely.

But can we send out a memo. to get Vader's to stop holding onto their boxes per se? Doh!! The pictures are painfully hilarious!

In other news, nothing going on here. Looking forward to Celebration in two weeks. If any y'all are going let me know.

:)
