What would be a good ESB or ROTJ helmet without these??

For the ESB style, I made a personal design from pictures of original decals (and not a scan or a copy of existing decals from others guys).

I adjusted the general shape with the help of accurate helmets replicas (RSprop helmet and direct cast of a ROTJ v1 helmet).

And some examples of these decals on helmets:

For the ROTJ style, I made these by using a resin cast of an original ROTJ helmet to reproduce them. 99% similar to the screen used.

Fit perfectly on the ROTJ helmet reference: CFO

Those are looking great. Well done.

Do you think these templates can be used to make decals for my scaled helmets?

I guess it would be too small.

It's already a very precise work for a full scall helemt, I can't imagine for a scaled replica.

Well, the Marmit helmet sport small stickers, so I guess it's possible. They are of course one-sheet, not double layered like the awesome ones you are making for the full scale helmets, but I assume the digital drawings can be used for the scaled down ones too. Could be interesting to try it out.

If you could provide the shape and measurement of each area (tear drops, traps, etc...) I could try to make a set.

But the main problem would be the texture (the silkscreen style) which would be big ^^

Well, wouldn't it simply work by scaling the digital drawings down by 6? If they fit the full size helmets they should fit the scaled down helmets that are scanned and printed from those same full scale helmets. :)

Also, in that scale you probably wouldn't go silkscreened, but simple thin decal or waterslide option.

I did it and it's very very small.

Comparison with a full size ESB decal

Cool. And yeah, it should be small. 6 times smaller than 1:1. :)

Nice work! I've been wanting to try this process with some other Star Wars stickers. Would you share a bit of the process and where you got the kit?

Cheers

No kit needed ^^

Just a good amount of patience.

I print the patterns on adhesiv paper, I remove the areas that I'll paint. I apply them on vynil paper and apply the paint.

Then I remove the adhesiv paper.

Hi guys. It's been a while since my last thread here. Been busy by others projects, personnal life, etc... you know what I mean.

Props missed me so I decided to get back to an old project.

I improved the way to create those decals. Still not perfect (but the screen used decals weren't ^^) but I guess better.

As you can see on the pics below, ESB style (which appears on ESB stunt, MKII and ROTJ V1) is different from ROTJ style (which appears on ROTJ V2, stunt and "Hero").

Shape and color.

For the ESB style, I used reference pictures and close up of screen used helmet and corrected the shape since it's curved on the helmet and that I needed the shape flat.

For ROTJ style, I used a resin cast of a screen used ROTJ helmet (those call Hero ROTJ) which was casted with its original decals.

The blue stripes are the same for both (I used the ROTJ shape).
