Please could anyone tell me what is the exact gunmetal color and name of the paint used for eFX Vader Legend? Any link where to find it? Thanks in advance :)

Try using a lead pencil...

No, it's a small scratch I'd like to fix. :)

The funny thing is that till now I hoped to have 2-3 answers from Vader experts here :toothy

I don't think anyone knows the exact paint. My guess is that they laser scanned (maybe) the gunmetal color from a helmet and duplicated it. However, go to your autoparts store and simply look through the gunmetal colors. In jars, in spray cans, etc. Duplicolor is what I use for the helmets over here but I seriously sit down on the floor in the aisle and compare everything I need side by side.

Then run tests. You'll end up spending more money than you want to if you want to get it right (don't most of us know! :banger ) but run tests of paint on little pieces of something else, LET THEM DRY, and hold them up in sequence to the area you want to fix.

Have you a picture of the damage? Often damage will create a depression (in the mask and the owner) as well.

Thanks for the answer. :) But looking at my location you might understand it is not so easy to find multiple types of gunmetal paints

Well, the discussion about what was used on the original helmets is one thing... but what was used for the eFX, well, only people working there would know that.

I received a message from Bryan from eFX who tried to help, but he said there are no more samples of the PU paint left from the China factory - he asked about this for me. So I guess the small scratch can stay as it is, since it is visible only if you look carefully (and if I tell you where to look because it is in a quite hidden spot anyway) :lol

BTW a couple more pics - ESB reveal lines next to the tubes maybe? Could this be something like their PCR cheaper helmets? No fiberglass, but ABS maybe - see the smooth interior of the dome?

you could be right about it being the ABS version of the ESB, considering that i see the Stormtrooper version of that in the background.

Also, come by and check out our new tooling master (prototype) ANH Precision Cast Replica (PCR) Darth Vader Helmet. The master pattern was cast from the Rick Baker mold just like our Legend Edition! This is made in injection molded ABS. The MSRP will be $299 and they will be available starting in January.

Too expensive... :nono

Expensive, but still cheaper than EFX LE and Legend. Instead of making LE and Legend they should have made Legend only, make it available everywhere, and then make this PCR one.

Yes and no. I prefer the LE edition as the Legend is not the "real thing" and I 'm not convinced by the c-scar shape/presence. I read a lot about this but the story is still not clear to me. Please don't shoot me! ;)

The PCR is a different thing: I think a plastic helmet should cost in the 150-200 usd range.

Just my opinions. :-)

I used to have both LE and Legend Vader lids, and though Legend is not really what is supposed to be, it still is superior to the LE, even if marginally.

1. To expensive for that overcleaned and sucked like a lollipop looking "toyhelmet"
2. They should let do anovos make the toys
3. Before showing something new, they should fill there backorders on products which were promised to develop years ago
4. There are way better fanmade helmets outthere for just a bit more money...which also got delivered after payed.
5. Anyhow we will never see this released... :cheers

I think a plastic helmet is a cool idea but as usual with eFX...you just get a teaser and thats it for years. Honestly i doubt anything of their Star Wars stuff will be available for the crowd because they will loose their license for SW props soon.

Regarding the Legend/Limited....its a nice collectable ...nothing more. Not comparable to a SL or a TM
