Looks way better, but still far from what I would consider a great looking Vader.

We know Sideshow are very good at "artistic interpretation". This is another example among so many others

This was posted on Sideshowcollectors.com and it really is a crappy representation of the character. Even the Hasbro looks better than this and even the '77 12" figure looked more accurately proportioned than this.

A continued suggestion with the dome fix - especially widening the crown of the dome:

But, as things stand: Marmit is still unrivaled as the best licensed Vader never produced.

This SS 1:6 Vader is a disappointment so far...

First look at the real ESB figure. Rumor has it that the one shown off previously was just a quickly modded ANH with some of the new ESB parts shown alongside it.

Awaiting more pictures to determine the updates, but looks like they worked more on the dome, chest armor, bells and other armor parts - unsure whether they have fixed the issues with the soft parts.

So will this worth ordering? Need to see some more pics and also to know specialists opinions. :)

Hmm, obvious flaws springing to mind but not bad on first glance. Promising to a degree.

The thing is I already have too many Vader items in my collection, my focus being OT Imperials and troopers. So the idea is to order a new Vader ONLY if really worth it. And then maybe sell one of the ones I have, maybe the SS 1:6 ANH one.

Not a bad attempt. Slowly getting on the right path...

What I'm disliking these days is the over articulated looking bodies with figures, not so much SW stuff but look at the recent Rocky figures. Far worse in terms of appearance just to move in 30 different ways but it looks like someone has cut the limbs etc up and just stuck it on a body. There are no realistic lines just a cut up job, it's crap!

I pre-ordered this figure, but will wait to see if worth to keep. I really hope it will do, though this is better than their ANH attempt it is not perfect alas

Latest view of the figure.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLBdFQu6FgE

That actually doesn't look half bad. Definitely an improvement to the early prototype pictures and a HUGE improvement over their ANH offering. Actually... they could offer armor sets of everything but the helmet for those who want to make their ANH pieces more accurate. I would have to see in-hand pictures of the production piece... but as it looks now they have really listened to the critique and made something that is closer to touching the Marmit Vaders... but not quite. There's still something about the Marmits that just have THE LOOK, even though they are not über-accurate as mine... but Sideshow is FINALLY getting up the right track.

Cool, thanks for the link!

Glad I am not getting one though doubtless it will reach the same stupid collector prices or more than the first one.
