Thank you! :)

Other than my lenses, it's pretty much done I think.

Whats wrong with the lenses? Are they flat? If they have the right shape for ESB i would like to by them =)

Your helmet is so good, i use your pictures as reference for my Rubies, instead of pictures from the movie. :thumbsup

Well, their green for starters. Other than that they're not too bad ... Just looking for something a little more finished around the edges.

did you end up using clear coat? and did you have to buff and polish to get that glossy finish? I'm working on my rubies at the moment and still trying to decide whether to clear coat or not. I'll be using Tamiya gunmetal.

I used clear coat on the dome, but not the face mask. You can wet sand clear coat if you get drips, then polish/buff back to a shine. I use Novus plastic polish and cleaner on all my helmets. Works great.

I received my lenses. Had to do a bit of reshaping with a heat gun and a glass light cover I picked up. And I cleaned up the edges a bit. Got 'em glued in there now. They're not as shiny as the green one's I had in there, but they're the right color now.

thanks Tk4702.... just another question - does the clear coat straight after the base coat, or do you need to wait like a week for the base coat to cure, before applying clear? I 'm getting conflicting information in my research. Some people say clear coat 15mins after base, some wait a whole week before clear coating.

Looking really awesome Jesse. Too cool.

Honestly, the closer you apply the clear coat to when you've painted the base coat, you more highly risk problems. I think, if you are not a professional painter, give the base coat some time to cure first.

Thanks guys!

I waited quite some time before adding the clear coat, about a week or so ... I wanted to make sure it was completely smooth, so I did quite a bit of wet sanding first. The clear coat will also stick better after sanding. I would avoid adding the clear coat immediately after fresh paint. Take your time.

Man, you gotta switch to something other than flickr... 'cause, the pictures "flicker" away and disappears after a while.

Photobucket may be better to keep the photos up?

Hmmm... never really had an issue until I started pics posting here. Not exactly sure why that is. I'll look into photo bucket.
