Thank you for your patience. Not emotionally and psychologically prepped yet to mold the thing....

I'd have to do it myself since shipping soft clay to someone with such skills will risk damaging the sculpt. I have to do this on my own.

Hi Mac,

I saw there'd been replies on this thread and got all excited. Still, never mind. There's no point in moving things forward until you're ready to do so.

Have you got a game plan yet for making the mould? I'm leaning towards the 'thickened RTV inner with a GRP outer jacket' route myself.

Jon

Nice job Mac you should consider doing a full scale sculpt too i think.
It'd be nice to see a good proper full size fan sculpt of Vader and not just a modified this that or the other cast. :thumbsup

Thanks for the encouragement, guys!

I should have listened to Brian Muir a long time ago. Working with oil based clay is so much more rewarding than, say, modifying a Rubie's and trying to force the plastic to do what it doesn't want to do. Fortunately, the years of studying Vader and trying to rescue crappy online purchases have helped develop an eye that causes my clay sculpts to benefit.

I don't have a game plan in terms of what specific products to use to mold it. I've since done some additional domework on the fiberglass projects (e.g. Goldie, Quasimodo) so I need to port that knowledge back to the ClayNH dome.

I've also decided that I should really try to sculpt the teeth and tubes into the mask instead of trying to do a first pull and then use two-part epoxy clay (the old fashioned way). :thumbsup

Hi Mr Maclaren!

I'm not doing too bad, but was diagnosed over the last few weeks with a problem with my neck and spine... :ac6 It's causing numbness and tingling in my face and hands.....

I am hoping it can be corrected by chiropractic measures and not surgery!!!

I see there was a tornado out in California...havent ever heard of one being that far out west before. We had a few go by here last night and scare the be-jee-bees out of every one after seeing those people in Joplin Mo get hit so bad by a tornado.

How is the mask coming?

Darthvadernut72....
