I thought it about time I pulled my finger out and finished the CFO ROTJ armour I've had half finished for a while.

After Pete's review thread and his awesome weathering of one of our suits I have had the encouragement to crack on and have a go myself.

I've gone for the screen used Forest of Endor look..... I'm not finished yet and still have some armour parts to complete, the little fiddly parts and the helmet which I am really looking forward to weathering....:)

Tell me what you think.

Not sure if I'm a little portly for a Stormtrooper but I'll give it a go. Failing that and I look like a kinder egg in plastic I'll get my slimmer brother to put it on. :D

That is going to look fantastic. How are you going about the weathering? I has a very natural used look to it. :cheers

Thanks!

I used a combination of sandpapers and wood stain, Turps and newspaper until I got the look I was after.... I plan on a tutorial thread showing how I do it soon.....

I've still got a few pieces of armour to weather. Then the fun starts!

Very nice. I've been wanting to put my lid together as well. Been watching both you and stuka's work on these. I'm really liking the weathered look. Did you glue the ears on as well? If so what type of glue did you use? I hear plastic weld has been used, but I'm not sure if thats just a generic term or and actual product? Anyway, you did a beautiful job on this and should be very proud! :cheers

I use plastic weld/ liquid solvent cement. If you are gluing ABS then Absol will also work the same way and if using HIPS the Hipsol is also the same kind of cement.

Man, that helmet's taken a lot more beating than the rest of the armor. Did he hide his head in the dirt from the Ewoks, hoping they'd pass him by?

I like the dirty look. :cheers

:toothy

The helmet does look a lot dirtier in those pics but it does match the armour quite well in person......

I have more or less finished the complete suit. I just need to take some nice Endor style pics.....
