Yeah, wish I could paint as cleanly as that.

Oh... what brand and color did you use for the traps and teeth?

Cheers Carsten, I tink it is a mutter of practice really. Also I tried to paint the outlines late night when there is no noise, otherwise my hands are shaky :grumpy . I used Humbrols paints, gray #5 and black satin #85.

Thanks

Ok guys so here it comes the las photoshoot I did this past weekend. Everything is final except that it needs a weathering pass. Hovi mix placed(as you can see each hovi mix is painted in a different style like the reference picture I posted previously from the interior of Tantive IV), details for the traps painted and blue tube stripes added as well.

Cheers

Thanks for the info on the colors. I'm so happy my local hobby shop is still carrying Humbrol. Just so easy to get the paints I need.

Awesome new pictures. I read somewhere that people used black rubber trim to make the black scuff mark weathering... can't recall if it was you, but it was very ingenious and convincing looking.

Reason I'm certain it is a SFS faceplate is the shape and the fact that it has that distinctive fractionally larger look to it than it should be compared to Brian R casts and the back&cap part used.

Hey Carsten, you are welcome. I love Humbrol paints. Related to the weathering you are right; I used previously that technique , I actually documented it before inthe ROTJ background helmet I built sometime ago;

3-vt2638.html?start=30

About the facemask I can see you point. I will for that comparition picture tonight so we can chat more about it.

I am glad you like my latest pictures, thanks; I realy liked it the way came out the detail in general but the blue stripes made me specially proud :toothy

Cheers

Yes, it definitely turned out pretty convincing. I really like it. Just hope I'll be able to paint my stuff just half as good and I'll be thrilled.

And LOL... that's pretty funny that the weathering technique was yours! :lol

WOW, that is looking awesome.

So both Rustoleum paints worked well together? No problems with them?

Your going with the black satin #85 over the gloss black? How come?

Sorry I for got to answer to your question. Yes as a matter of fact both paints can live together very well, my only advice would be to let the taupe paint cure for a week at least before apply the white color over it.
Black Satin gives a nicer look in my opinion, stil look a bit gloss but not too distracing. If you apply it in fast strokes somehow looks less glossy. Recoat helps to mae it look glossier. I hope this will help you.

Cheers

Can't wait to see more. What color did you use for the tube stripes? Looks like a more vibrant blue than I'm used to... or maybe I'm just tired.
