Is anyone actually sure that MR were trying to palm this helmet off as their own at the fair or just had a helmet on show to show off what the upcoming releases are going to be ?

I noticed the black tube striping, and thought it was weird, but I'm not incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to the other details. I think the green lenses look really cool in the bottom pick - I like the deep emerald color of them.

I do not know, but it looks pretty strange to me. I hope it is not the final product. I was expecting something more acurate to the originals, the ears cup shape, the tube decals, the teeth..., I fell rather dissapointed

Is it just me or does this have a hint of the Special Edition trooper look? Can also see some of the DP DLX in there as well... looks odd, imo.

Good god I hope that this is not the final product. Where does one even start with this. Ear caps, what is with them and those sharp rectangular detail pieces? Oh nonono. The frown area, I hope they are going for a hero helmet with only 6 cutouts, but why the black outline? Also there doesnt appear to be the remaining 4 teeth indentations in that area as well. From the shadows, the vocoder appears to be a separate piece like the AFX helmets. Blah! Black tube stripes, wtf? All around soft lines and angles. Ok tirade over.

On the other hand compared to any and all licensed replicas of this helmet ever produced in history this is a GEM! The common fans that are not as sick and twisted in analysis as some of us will absolutely love this piece.

Too bad the mini helmet is just the Riddel again. I was hoping for something new with this line. Oh well.

eeeeek - thats scary (and clearly a different helmet from the earlier pics)

It looks like a cross between several helmets and a mish-mash of Stunt, Hero, ANH, ROJ,DP Dlx, etc. etc.

Flat lenses would make it look a bit better

cheers

jez

Eeeeesh! Honestly, that looks like some of the bad f-glass recasts that you see on ebay from time to time. Not at all like the pix of the unfinished Trooper on Jez's site last year.

God, I hope this doesn't turn into another debacle for them.....

With this latest prototype reveal... I really think they should have tried doing the idealized symmetrical version instead of replicating the wonky original look and getting it wrong.

You can't have an idealized wonky helmet and not piss off the purists and you can't have a wonky symmetrical helmet and not piss of the general regular Star Wars fan. You can't have it both ways - either do it 100% accurate or do it 100% idealized and symmetrical and perfect.

Just my opinion.

They could always make an idealized version and a screen accurate version
I dont think they should market this as an ANH helmet it clearly isnt they should just market it as a stormtrooper helmet

A pic of the latest prototype (they need to fix a problem with the screw)...

Also, the ordering page is up with some pictures, but the pictures are of the prototype shown at ToyFair and NOT the final product.

Anyone thinking of ordering it next week?
