Good idea Mac, I've made alot of mess in the past with FG particles etc.

Very innovative....great stuff....ya lab catalogs have all kinds of interesting and fun things. One thing you might try for ergonomics is make a box that has the window slanted at 45 degrees facing you, that way more light gets into the box and it would be easier to put it on a bench and sit down and look into it directly rather than from above, although I haven't done that much dremeling so maybe what you have is already an ideal configuration. But yes absolutely always use some kind of respirator with this sort of thing as the microscopic particles get lodged into the lungs pretty easily, and below a certain size cannot be cleared out...

I know that this is like, over kill for many. But I thought that I would share what I use for dust collection. It works quite well, but yes. I do still wear a respirator while using any abrasive on fiberglass.

One tip that I have been sharing for a few years is the use of talcum, (baby) powder. If you apply it to all exposed skin before 'glass working. It gets into the small pores of the skin blocking the fiberglass dust from doing the same and causing you to itch. And also, washing with cold water instead of warm will keep the fibers from being washed into opened pores.

Yup, the blaster was an eBay special And yes, call me a woosie if you like, but I like to keep my lungs as long as I can thank you very much.

I picked up this monster at one of those bargain low end tool stores, for under $200.00. The old file cabinet was a freebie of course, ( Love that free stuff ) I have spent many hours grinding away at 'glass and bondo, re shaping this and that. And then step back to look at a deep pile of dust around me and just think about how much is getting past the face mask and into the lungs. I do this sort of thing very often, so that is why I thought that I needed this big sucker, (pun intended) in my arsenal of tools.
