Oh, I definatly agree that they were black through out ESB both in the meditaion chamber (wide armor) and through the fencing sequence (small armor) but you have to admit the cap ia annoyingly grey, possibly from the big white screens they use for lighting reflecting in the clearcoat as was stated by CD.......

Heres another thought, I have noticed that the short armor tends to be grey and excluding ANH the wide armor bells are all black (*which looks better anyway) so what about the set Profiles and history sold a few years back? I know it was a repaint, but I wonder. Seems like you would paint it the same tones.....on the other hand they did ruin it and repaint it :violent

You talking about the "bust" thing that was sold? Helmet and armor combo? That was a Don Post DLX, from what can be established from the photographs of it.

Hey!

Yeah, I've been doing a little bit of work on these. I've done more intensive research on the armour colour schemes and have reached my own conclusions. I won't post the templates again until they are completely finished. I still need to finish up the belt diagrams and do some more work on the chest box ones I've started. You'll be the first to know when they're done!

Cheers,

MJC.

OK, so here are the final armour paint scheme templates for the trilogy. I've done all the research I'm going to do on these, but I do think that these are the only ones seen on screen.

I've got higher resolution versions of these, so Leo, I'll email them to you for hosting.

Bye for now,

MJC.

Thought this topic was interesting for the ANH Chest Armor: http://www.therpf.com/index.php?showtopic=122654

Also, if I could make a suggestion, if it's not too late, for the center stripe on the RotJ armor - it should be less sharp and appear more rounded/soft, if you know what I mean.

What, you couldn't have suggested that during the three months since I started these?!?!? You had to wait until I'd already sent the high-res copies to Leo for hosting?!?!?

Just kidding, I've gone ahead and changed that ridge on the ROTJ template in my previous post. I'll email the new high-res one to Leo again and see if he can "re-zip" and host the new one.

As for that thread about the ANH armour, I personally don't believe that the center ridge was ever black in the film. I think that a lot of those screencaps that people are posting only show lighting playing tricks on people. Anyway, from what I have researched, I say that it isn't black, so I'll leave it grey on my paint scheme templates.

Later,

MJC.

LOL... well... my brain had to remember to tell my hands to write it... and I had to remember it too...

Yeah... I agree... looks to be tricks of light and promo pictures with other style armor and repaints. :thumbsup
