What I don't like about this is that he is now presenting these DVDs as if they were acceptable evidence and they didn't seem to do anything for his case. His case was decided based on the 1988 law and the 15 year copyright term but also that he wasn't under contract by LFL. The statement by his lawyers indicates that AA "accepted that in making his replicas he was copying from [32 copyright works], but subject to statutory defenses." So what he is doing now is presenting the sculpting story to his customers as if the statutory defense legitimizes it, and that is wrong.

I agree and dont understand what he's trying to get to on this.

Originally he maintained that HE had sculpted the Helmet and "most" of the armour - from the 2D drawing by RMQ

Then in April the Court ruled that AA didnt Sculpt anything and that Brian Muir had sculpted the Armour and that Nick Pemberton the Helmet. I think everyone including myself thinks the judge got this wrong and it was Liz Moore who sculpted the helmet.

Either way AA was given the "clay sculpts" and for most of us lay-people, I cant imagine its all that hard to take a clay sculpt and produce some vac-formable moulds from it?

I can only gather that he's now trying to suggest that he only used the clay sculpts as REFERENCE, and physically with his hands sculpted a new trooper helmet mould for vac-forming purposes BY THE SIDE of the clay sculpt?

Given we've all seen photos of the clay sculpt this is complete madness, since EVERY angle on the Stormtrooper face-plate and back is IDENTICAL to the clay sculpt.

He's digging a deeper and deeper hole for himself.

Cheers

Jez
