Just like the original. Only problem I see is people returning the helmet thinking the wonkiness is another QC issue. :lol

And I'm very glad it's a four piece helmet unlike the prototype they showed at toyfair.
I might not get it for a while though. Not until I see reviews from others at least. I'm guessing the price would be around the same for the clone helmets.

Lets hope the build time isn't the same as it was for the clone helmets :lol

Shame they dropped the CE line, 'cause that was estimated at $99 pr helmet and the LE (or whatever the second best line is called) was at $199. If the trooper helmets are of the same price as the Clone helmets, then I have no interest in them.

As far as I know the CE line has been discontinued, at least for lightsabers, because the Qui-gon didn't sell well. I personally think a CE line of helmets for $100 would do well, I mean, I'd want them.
$200 for a helmet is a little tougher choice, but would most likely mean I wouldn't be getting them.

I think I'd prefer more symmetric.

I've seen and owned enough wonky helmets....

I want to see an idealized version..the "way the Empire would've built it".
If it's done well, I think it will be a nice lid!

Make your thoughts known to MR. Though, I guess they are going purely for screen accurate, rather than both, as they had initially planned. Shame. Would have been nice to see both. :thumbsup

I spoke to some MR people at the SDCC last july - it looks like theyve learned their lesson after the clone helmet problems

in addition I think theyre wary of over committing on the project, especially as interest in SW has dropped since Summer 05's high. If you look at the Clone range they seem bvery happy to reuse the same standard mould again and again (with different colour schemes) so the thought of them doing 2 or 3 different Stormtrooper sculpts is unrealistic in this economic (prop) climate

Whatever they do I hope they do it quick. Given its the 30th anniversary, we want the DELIVERED this summer, not fall, winter or next spring in time for the "31st anniversary"

My preference would be asymmetrical, but I'm happy to accept some cleaning up.

btw I posted a number of questions to the MR people on Rebelscum but it looks like theyre nolonger doing "fan" boards
:conf
Cheers

Jez

I've lived my whole life with the stormtroopers being out of wack so to speak...hell back in 77 we never noticed...they were just the coolest thing you'd ever seen!

Now jump ahead 30 years and much has changed. If those same movies were made today the overall look might be the same but the helmets and armor would have symmetry. Probably because the technology is there to do so and didn't exsist in 77.

Though LFL would now cg them and they would all run around looking like they had sticks up their asses.

Just thinking out loud...I LOVE the originals but would not be afraid to see a proper sized helmet with symmetry. :chase

Hi There, I have seen more pictures from the Uk toy fair and I am afraid that the helmet they are using is athe Battle spec(stunt) from SDS.
Can anybody confirm that?

Not sure what your question is are you saying they were using an SDS lid as a display or that they have recast a battlespec for their product ?
from that picture which is the only one i have seen and isnt brilliant i would say thats not a battlespec
any chance of sharing these other pictures please ?

What I mean is that they are displaying a battle spec helmet(SDS) instead the MR"hero" helmet, but I could be wrong...
This the link where you can find more images.

Cheers
