As I said on the RPF: some things are better left unchanged. It couldn't compete with the original anyway IMO. If you want symmetry go for the PT. The OT needs to be wonky, weathered and Asymmetrical.

Or is it just my age.......? :lol

Does anyone know what it will be made from ?
will it be vac formed abs ?
injection moulded or extruded plastic ?
or fibreglass ?
whichever it is hope they dont make another almighty cock up with quality issues again like the clone and vader helmets

i believe they are calling it an ANH stormtrooper helmet so i think it should be just that as seen in the movies not some tidied up prettier more symetrical thing

will they be doing both stunt and hero helmets ? im assuming if only one style it would be the hero ?

I just found some pics of somekind of MR ST proto.

And some additional info (don't know if its still up to date)

CE: Vacuum formed in 4 pieces: Face Mask, Dome and 2 ears. The geometry of the helmet will be symmetrical "as it was intended to be". Flat lens.

LE: This will be vacuum formed in 4 pieces: Face Mask, Dome and 2 ears. The material will be more premium than the the CE version. The geometry will be "wonky" exactly as seen on screen. Bubble lenses. The inside will be padded.

EE: This will be made in 4 pieces, as well However, this will made of hand laid fiberglass. The geometry will be symmetrical. Bubble lenses. The inside will have premium padding.

I heard they killed the CE line... can anyone confirm whether this is true or not?

What were the edition titles again?

LE is most likely Limited Edition... but what of the other two? I keep forgetting! :conf

Got an update from MR:

Here are some answers about the Stormtrooper helmet:
For 2007, we will only making the Limited Edition. Here are the features:

1. Molded in Fiberglass. It is cast in 4 pieces: Face, dome, right and left ear.
This is the way the original helmets were made, except for they were vacuum formed.
2. Wonky
3. Hero version
4. Bubble Lenses
5. Full padding inside (ala Clone Trooper)

Well... apparently they've learned from past mistakes not to overestimate their capabilities. Nice to see that they are going for wonky... wonder what of the OT helmets they are using as reference... it's gotta be a Hero helmet, since that is what they are making...

Wonder what the price will be for this thing.
