I was wondering where people got sheets of ABS plastic. I want to add a strapping system to my Stormtrooper armor that uses snaps but I’d need to get some strips of ABS plastic. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

McMaster-Carr sells ABS stock. You can find them at http://www.mcmaster.com/ . Just search for ABS Sheet Stock and you'll see a bunch of options available.

I take it this is what your going to put the snaps onto before glueing these parts to your armour?

If so i recommend the thinner plastic the better so that the small squares can 'mold' easily to the shape of your armour. I use really thin plastic and usually use pieces about 1 1/2 to 2 inch squares.

I did check out McMaster-Carr but they don’t seem to carry any ABS in white. Maybe I am just not looking in the right place? I guess all in all it doesn’t really matter which color I use.



Yes, I am planning to attach the snaps to the ABS and then gluing that to my armor. Ultimately I would like to create a strapping system that is as close to screen accurate as possible but it is hard to find the information. I can only assume snaps are accurate based on looking at screen captures.

I have been working with these guys for a while now. I am not sure on ABS, but for sure Styrene. I would imagine an email would confirm ABS...
