Guys,

In your experience, how long has it taken for you to get your TE lids?

I was one of the people who originally put in an order for the 30th Anniversary edition. I noticed NoHumorMan got his within a month or two.

Eight months later, I still have not received my order, and each time I've e-mailed TE, he says something along the lines that it didn't turn out good, but he's going to make a new attempt the next week. E-mail after e-mail like this, I'm getting very frustrated and discouraged, and I wonder if I'll ever see my helmets.

He's a member here....perhaps he'll post an update...
Personally, IMO I don't mind waiting for a quality item as long as I receive regular status updates.

Kev,

I agree with you, but I've not been getting regular updates. The burden is on me to inquire by e-mail. I'm not the type who emails every single day. I try to keep in contact every 3-4 weeks, but sometimes I don't get a response at all.

Hi Mac,

I am waiting on one of his HDPE helmets and this has been for a wee while.

This might not be of any great consolation as you seem to have waited for a long while but one thing I will say is I have bought numerous helmets and armours from Matt over years and sometimes there have been delays but he has never ever failed to deliver in the end.

I have also never heard of anybody who hasn't got their props from him even though there are delays sometimes.

I will also say I have always been very happy with the product delivered as well.

I hope things work out for you Mac I am sure they will.

Cheers Chris

Thanks for the help and the encouragement, guys.

This was my first transaction with Matt ever, so I didn't know what to expect. I also read the whitearmor thread in which Matt posted regarding the person who reported him to eBay. In regards to that individual, my understanding is that eBay/PayPal (they're one company) recommends reporting non-delivery if the item is not delivered in 30 days for domestic shipping, and 40 days for foreign. I was put in the same position though I chose to continue to try the e-mail route.

Since Matt firmly stated on whitearmor.net that everyone will get their helmets, I will hold out in the hope that I'm not excluded or forgotten in that statement.

Understood....and that's frustrating.
When I sell a capeset, strapset or whatever...I'm typically at the other end of the spectrum where I probably send too many e-mails/updates to the buyer. But I'd rather have proactive unsolicited updates than little or no updates where I have to prod for info all of the time....doesn't give the warm and fuzzy when dishing out a lotta dough for something.

That said, the sporadic communication seems to be the norm with many vendors. But in the end they typically deliver spectacular product. Part of the "charm" in the experience of buying online props!

Hiya Mac-
It took a long while to get mine. Matt's life is in a bit of disarray right now it seems. He ran into a bit of frustration with some folks at the FISD over the same issue, but it seems things are working out. I personally ran into the same problem but Matt was very good about finally setting me up with an outstanding product. I couldn't be happier with the helmet. Seems people are willing to wait, it's just that the lack of communication is what gets on ppl's nerves. If you can be patient I trust you will be very very satisfied with the product. Speaking from personal experience. =)

Don't worry Mac,

TE always delivers without fail and what you receive will be well worth the wait.

It's a trait of Vader/Stormtrooper helmet makers.
I had to wait a good while for my SPFX and a year for my VP...

Not all of them - just some who believe its acceptable to take your money and then leave you waiting for months on end, almost begging them to be gracious enough to send you something youve already paid good money for.

I too have waited 6 months for a Vader helmet from a supplier who said it was "in hand". Peronally I'm fine if theyre straight with me over timescales - I just hate the lies and excuses.

Cheers

Jez

Didn't MR do exactly the same with most of their Star Wars helmets?
When you're dealing with individuals it's just something you have to expect sometimes.

The most important aspect of this is that T*E always delivers.

Except MR offered a refund if people didnt want to wait!

IMO people shouldnt expect crappy service. If something's delayed, contact the buyer and tell him the score. Ignoring buyers emails is really uncool.

Cheers

Jez

I'm sure T*E will come through. It always helps to highlight these issues. 8 mths is unacceptable so I hope it is in hand.
