Hello guys

Just thought I'd share with you a little project I'd been working on for some time.
The elusive little 5 second buggers you see as the Millenium Falcon is being sucked into the Death Star

These chaps

There isn't a clean close up behind the scenes shot that I know of. there are a few side on production shooting shots but nothing concrete. So after lots of picture hunting and still enhancing I came up with these :)

Hope you like it. Or if you have any info to share please let me know

That looks pretty cool. There was a big hunt for these on the RPF with a possible find... but it's been a while since the thread has been active.

I think you captured the look pretty well.

Really? And here I thought I was so clever. :lol Must have missed your post over there... or just forgotten it. Definitely easily identifiable as what it's supposed to be! :thumbsup

This isn't something I've studied in detail, but would the tube not have been connected to one or two of the aerators (hovi mic tip areas) in a similar fashion to the TIE pilots - and using similar tubing?

Yeah thats a valid question dude. But most of the flicks I've seen seem to have it coming in from the side/back and in the middle somehow.
Good point though :)

In my flicks the hose come under my arm, that was just for photos to show it against the armour, normally it goes over the arm like this.
The hose should be a lot thicker too

I was made aware of these on Rebelscum... not sure they were on that page always - I think they are new pictures - but they show a good view to what Marmit would have done with the spacetroopers.

Who knows what kind of reference they had access to!?

holy cr@p!

dude, that's ace. Guess what I'll be changing this weekend :)

I have no idea what they'd have access to either but those bottles (i always insisted were silver - my GML said white?) look like the ones on the death star trench scene. Very similar props indeed :)

Looking at the original photo after seeing the marmit images it certainly looks like they've got some accuracy there.

It's amazing. Maybe someone in LFL knows the design specifications of what's been eluding fans for years. Here we are as a prop community taking guesses and enlarging screen captures to no avail, and here comes a toymaker, and he produces something whose accuracy spanks us. Funny how we've upgraded from photos to toys as references! :toothy

Studying the Marmit, the tube attachment to the helmet doesn't make sense to me, as there are no ports on the helmet (other than the aerators) with which to take oxygen. Again, I have to defer to the logic of the TIE Pilot helmets where the aerators are intake ports for air tubes.

Well, even TIE Pilots have to pee, and the pee has to go somewhere! :toothy
