The SDS looks more accurate to me....
(original left, AA right)

Image
With the mohawk imo the only real difference

When comparing the TE/Laws I notice the following inconsistancies
(originalleft, TE/Laws right)
Image
-The TE/Laws face is too thin. It looks "stunt" when it should say "hero"
-Teeth remnants/dents where they shouldnt be (Stunt oversight)
-Decals waaay out
-Ears are fixed to side on TE/Laws, on originals they are separate pieces bolted on

I have 2 TE/Laws TIE's and both are same. Dont know if there's a "newer version" but both mine look same despite being bought years apart.

Cheers

Jez

As I said, his newest version is right on and you dont have one. Recently done in the last 2 months with separate ears. An again you missed the part of the nose ridge being altered or modified or whatever he did to it to ruin the overall look of the helmet.

Sorry jez, the helmet is not the same as the original nor will it ever be. He changed the face too much and lied too many times for people to take him seriously about the authenticity and accuracy.

I dont buy it nor ever would buy that sad attempt. And not for his laughable prices either.

I never said it was "the same as the original". I said in my opinion it was the most accurate available.

If your new helmet is so great then maybe you should post some pictures to back this up - or are we supposed to take your word for it?

As far as laughable prices - werent you looking for people to pay you hundreds of dollars for CD's of photos of your trip round the LFL archives?

Pot calling the kettle black maybe? :lol

Cheers

Jez

I have to agree with Jez. The SDS looks closer to the original.

This is a thread about Gino helmets. When the subject came on the accuracy of the Laws/TE I said.

Quote:
I bought a TIE helmet and Armour from TE a few years back and Dan supplied it. I think its a kind of team effort.

If Gino's making a TIE helmet then I'm sure he'll make a few "spares" which would probably go on sale.

Until then IMO the SDS is the most accurate. Shame about the mohawk

I was therefore expressing an opinion that the SDS is currently the most accurate I have seen

TE's response was:

Quote:
Of course it is! Everything AA makes is the most accurate!

Gimmie a frigging break

After me QUALIFYING why I thought the SDS was the most accurate, using photo comparisons, TE writes the following....

Quote:
Sorry jez, the helmet is not the same as the original nor will it ever be. He changed the face too much and lied too many times for people to take him seriously about the authenticity and accuracy.

Now maybe you'd like to reconsider who baited who first?

Cheers

Jez

I'm no trooper expert but the front face of AA's mohawk is at the wrong angle making the front face of the mohawk took too long.

The mohawk on the SDS is wrong - I said that earlier, twice in fact. Its clearly a new part.

However, even with that I still believe its the most accurate TIE helmet.

Cheers

I stand corrected.

But still, would it be possible to do without the baiting? It has to be possible to discuss these things without taking swipes at each other, or is that an Utopian request? We are all entitled to our differing opinions - just because we disagree with each other does that mean that we can just soil the other's opinion with mockery or trash his opinion.

I'm sorry... I'm feeling a little beside myself today, please excuse my ramblings.

This is OT I suppose but I'm sure many here would enjoy seeing the new TE TIE version 2.6.8.4. If it's different, then you admit by modification the limitations of TE TIE version 2.6.8.3 which Jez has shown.

I'd also be interested in seeing exactly where the SDS face deviates from the original. I could point out a few ways in which your original deviates from the move along and stop that ship helmets which represent earlier pulls. AA's lying doesn't change the way the face looks in relation to the originals, regardless of it's source.
