After reading the fascinating thread on the Vader sculpt I thought it would be great to discuss the Stormtrooper Armour.

Brian it would be interesting to hear anything that you can remember.

Hi Brian,

I'd like to know things like:

1) Who do you think sculpted the head, Liz Moore or Nick Pemberton (I've seen a photo with GL next to 2 totally different heads made of 2 different clays)?

2) Apart from some detailing (like knee boxes, seams belt?), was your sculpt the same as what appeared on-screen?

3) How did you make the "OII" in the back - just a wooden template?

4) What reference material did you sculpt from, just a couple of Ralph McQuarrie paintings?

5) Did the Elstree guys try and make the armour out of Fiberglass, before turning to Ainsowth to vac-form? What happened?

6) Any juicy bits of info you can give us on the helmet?

If you've seen the photo and are asking these details I presume AA has shown you Private and Confidential evidence for the court case next week.

I'm sure you'll understand that I can't reveal any details of an impending court case as difficult as it has been to watch my name and reputation being questioned at times on the forums.

I realise that everyone has waited so long to hear the truth but there's only a couple of weeks until all will be revealed.

No probs. Yes I've seen the pics but not via AA. I bowed out from any work with him early 2005 and glad I did given what has subsequently transpired.

I agree the whole case will be over soon so hopefully we'll all be able to talk and discuss the details at that point.

As you know we, the fans, are only interested in the truth and facts surrounding the history of the matter - happy to let LFL and SDS get on and argue the legalities.

My name's Paul and we met at the memorabilia event Nov 06. I am the Yorkshireman who made a stormtrooper suit for my (3 year old at the time) son http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?act=findpost&pid=19728 and we spoke about the armour and AA.

1. I remember you saying you sculpt the whole armour on an average sized male bodycast, but did you sculpt it as a whole suit or in parts? I mean, the chest overlaps the abdomin so I guess you must have taken casts of the abdomin or the chest first?

2. Also, there are some who think that only one arm was sculpted and moulded, then two arms cast, the duplicate arm was modified so it was almost mirrored versions. Did you sculpt both left and right complete arms?

Yes I do remember you at NEC.

I'm sorry but I really cannot answer any questions about the Stormtrooper armour or helmet until the court case is over.

I can assure you they'll be plenty to say in a couple of weeks.

I for one can't wait until this trial is over. It will be great to get the skinny on the original armor sculpts from Brian once everything is resolved.

After 31 years I dont think a few weeks is that long to wait.

Ainsworth doesn't look too happy in that photo...

I'm suprised the case is only expected to last around 10 days. I imagined the British leg of this matter to last much longer for some reason.
