Not to take away from Tom's awesome thread, but I felt this was a pretty good time to show you guys something.

A lot has been said about the TM being ESB. Yes it's true, the TM came as an ESB faceplate and dome, but at the core of the faceplate and the dome is ANH. A few pics have already been shown of the TM as an ANH style helmet in both Jesper's and Mike's (vadermonkey) awesome threads. I'm currently in the WIP stage and didn't feel I had enough yet to start my own thread, so I'll just piggyback onto Tom's thread.

This is the TM faceplate ANH style.

And this is my WIP ANH display with my TM ANH faceplate and JRX-ANH dome. I'm having a few things custom made and most will be replaced like the cape, change out the belt boxes etc. This is just a quick mockup and not indicative of the final display, only a teaser.

Pete,

WOW, that is truely awesome.. I'm frigin blown away how great that looks

It's also funny how many people are popping up with TM castings. A helmet I was told would not be cast.

Hi Clutch,

The fact that Darth Phaeton sold a cast of the TM on Ebay and advertised it in the junkyard of the RPF more than six months ago showed there had been a run :lol .

You are correct a few seem to be turning up in posts on the forum.

I wish I was going to show one off myself but infortunately missed out.

Maybe we are the only two who don't have one on the forum :lol

Maybe one day.

Cheers Chris

Weren’t original ten castings made and given out? Now we are getting to see what those people did with their casting. I think the ones we’ve seen are rather impressive. :thumbsup

I'm hoping that some day I'll be sent one  ( not holding my breath though )

Out of all the helmets currently out there, I feel the TM has the closest
lineage, and I'm even gonna say that the new SL Helmet won't compare
to the beauty of the TM once the pictures are made public..

Just My opinion

While there was no formal announcement of a public offering, there are conversations regarding a finite number of castings last year.

Otherwise, GINO wouldn't have asked TM for a casting.

I don't think it's funny. I think it's about time. The atmosphere here on the Den and in the community has changed. People are now less afraid to share instead of being raked over the coals.

You were told this by whom specifically?

Look, lets not go there this has been a positive thread in general.

Clutch, There were only 10 casts made and no doubt a very hard decision for TM to make, many people have missed out just like the first offering's of the GH and other helmets when they originally came to the forefront.

I edited this for diplomacy.

It was known that 10 casts had been made available. This was back in the privileged section over a year ago when all the original TM threads were there. Before the information leak closed them down.

JRX is offering a beautiful ROTJ helmet based on the TM casting right now. If I had the money I would be jumping all over that! I know it may not be the ANH or ESB, but it is a TM helmet non the less. Plus he is offering only 6 copies which is very limited. Something to think about.

I know it's not your item for sale, but please keep all advertising to the Black Market section.

My bad.

Just trying to make a point more so than a sales pitch. :ac6

Thanks for sharing the amazing story how this item came into your possession. It is great to see it wonderfully restored. The pictures look great. Beautiful Helmet.

I was told in PM's. I saw the other one, but that has been very modified. I would want an unaltered casting, but sadly that looks like it will not happening.

I think that "very modified" in those PMs is misinformation because it implies an alteration of the structure well beyond the intentions of the original prop artists. I'd be very amused if the person who told you that also wanted one for himself, so he was competing with you be one of the owners.

I noticed that when people realized the TM castings were all spoken for, some were disappointed but were good sports about it. Some weren't. In fact, at least one person started a little campaign to discredit the TM.

The JRX-ROTJ is a refinement over the ESB in terms of finish, hence the word "modified" simply doesn't do a refinement justice, otherwise you'd have to say the LFL prop makers work was "very modified" as well. When I look at photos of the JRX-ROTJ, I have to say that I have never had an ROTJ helmet take my breath away like that, even without any gloss paint!
