yep i know what you mean. I'll kick it around.
also- should the cut edge of the plastic be at a 90 degree angle to the face at all times do you think, or varied at an angle at times? (might be the most anal retentive question I've ever asked)

I have absolutely NO clue what you're talking about... I just sanded mine to get the rough edges away and then said: "hey... finished... YAY!" :lol

Looking good there man, i think the eye bulge looks just right. I keep thinking of trimming mine a little more, than part of me says, just leave it!

When i cut out my teeth (that sounds painful lol) I just drill a couple of small holes either end and then use a sharp knife and carefully trim the rest.

Look forwad to seeing more good work.

lol thanks fbj! I'll try to get back to it today...
NHM I was talking about the edge of the plastic looking like one of these "section cuts" (where 'D' is sanded all around):

The plastic is thick enough sometimes that it seems to make a difference how the edge is shaped.

But, like I said, I think that's too much worrying, so I'm moving past that! LOL

Awesome work there on the eyes and teeth. Which version are you going with on this 1?

Any particular screen identified helmet or just a generic ANH trooper?

Update:

The decals begin...

One of my reference pics...LOL

Getting that god-awful white powder off of the Weber's trim. ugh.
Image

First coats of paint on the newly-trimmed earcaps and the frown...

A couple of other things I've done along the way:
1- I trimmed the bottom 1/8" off the back trapezoids so they don't overlap all the edges like they did (still not perfect, but much better).
2- The anal side of me really wanted a bit of white space between the brow and the eyes. So I positioned it that way and drilled the ear holes. Problem was it slowly slid down till it was right on the eye line; I realized the rubber trim was holding slightly up. So, not to be defeated, I placed a small piece of ind strength velcro up near the forehead to tack it in place. Voila. I have my whitespace. That teeny weeny little detail is one of my favorite things about the stunt look, and I wasn't gonna give up! Truth be told, I'd like more of it--like a height equal to the height of the brow material--but I wasn't gonna push it. The AP doesn't seem to be made for that.

Hey Crow, It is looking very nice. I do like the way you trimmed the eyes. Are you using the stickers that came with the helmet kit?

Keep the good job :thumbsup
