I bought some of those mic tips in the top pic and they were total cr&p.

Which is why I made my own, which are the ones in the lower picture.

I did put alot of work in them and I'm real pleased with how they have come out.

My site shows more pictures and details of the tips.

There not cast from any mic tips, I made them from aluminium.

Well heres a few shots not the greatest i did warn of my crap photography :lol
You can clearly see though the overall shape differs between the two which surprised me as i know Ian took his specs from an SDS helmets which AA says have casts of hovi mix tips on ????
keiths is also supposed to be cast from a hovi mix too ????

click for full size

Both are great tips in my eyes much better than those dodgy faucet aerators

They both look pretty accurate, though the mesh doesn't look SA to me.

Below are two shots from the Move Along helmet mic tips. The mesh looks significantly different IMO.

Also... iirc, hovi mic tips come in more than one shape... or am I completely wrong here?

The mesh should be completely squared, not X'ed or rectangular.

Thanks for the pictures Gary!!

There is a difference there. Your also right, my mic tips are excatly the same as SDS tips.

NoHumorMan, your right about the mesh, I tried looking everywhere for it, and what I'm using is the best I could get. Unless anyone knows where I can get some.
