I tweaked my brow and trimmed my eyes a bit tonight, and thought I'd snap some shots.

I noticed a big difference today between my bucket and the AP/TE style helmets--one I hadn't noticed before. Dark Lord and I were actually trooping today at an event and we put our buckets next to ea other's and that's when i noticed it: the teeth. There are big differences in the teeth, namely the gaps. My helmet's teeth have much narrower and deeper gaps than the AP. We took a comparison shot with DL's camera...maybe he can post it here....
I also was trying to compare the eyes, brow etc. I got home and grabbed a utility knife! I also evened up my brow without taking the whole damn thing apart which was quite the effort :pale

Looks very nice. Funny you know the first thing i noticed about this helmet was the teeth, but i think thats cos i was painting the teeth on my AP bucket last night. And the teeth on my TE2 are different again from my AP, they seem slightly larger. Over all i would say the Ap helmet is slightly smaller all round.

Ok enough off topic, lets see those comparison photo's please..

lol thanks guys. overall, I love the helmet. One day though, I WILL own the "perfect helmet!" lol...gives me something to look fwd to =)

Oh and Jez of course; feel free to use those pics if you like, no problem. I wish I had a helmet stand, but oh well...

Oh and I'll try to get that comparison shot soon. I was mistaken--it was taken with a friend of ours' camera. Stay tuned.

also notice how deep the battle spec eye sockets are. these measure 5/8" deep at the deepest point!

awesome! thanks for the posts guys.
It appears the TE's eyes are trimmed in the same arc as the brow line, and not a straight line connection like the Battle Spec....that is exactly what I wanted to see. Thanks AGCG!

a quick photoshop job to show what the battle spec would look like trimmed the same way. hmmmmm decisions decisions.

Mikajedi,

Is there any way you could photograph the "after" helmet in the same location as the "before"? In this way, I hope the lighting will be similar. The photo on the right has more shadows which emphasize the under-eyes, mouth and other features so that they stand out more prominently but the shadows throw off the comparison somewhat.

Also the forward/vertical tilt of the helmets are slightly different. If you can more closely match the "nod" that would be awesome!

Thanks in advance! Great shots!
