Hi guys...have any of you seen the new f/x armor? I've seen pics of helmets that don't look familiar to me. I had heard there was to be new more accurate armor so I wonder if the helmets I've seen are new f/x or not.

If they have changed the armor...what changes have been made? Just on a little info hunt and wondered what you all may know. If I find pics of the helmet I'm talking about I'll post them. :hello

My understanding is only the helmet is getting redone, but is still being sculpted.

As to the picture, it almost looks like a recast RT that someone tried to reshape with a heat gun, and add some FX bits.

I have also heard the jungle drums about fx getting a make-over but understand it is the helmet only. To be honest the old and 'new' helmet are just plain ugly full stop.

If your thinking of getting fx i would get a headless kit and just get a nicer lid from the start.

The helmet you posted a pic of looks very strange. The eyes are small and the detail is soft, it doesnt look like my fx popcorn bucket...

I can only describe it as unpleasing to the eyes. I honestly don't like it and would never consider buying it. :eek

If it is, the old FX would be preferable.

let me see...how can i put this...

It looks like Don Post had sex with one of Gentle Giant's animated maquette troopers and this was the love child.

That thing is just weird looking. Of course, it beats the last FX helmet, which I suppose is the whole idea.

:toothy

I should add that the putrid flower-sheet backdrop is a lovely touch. It accentuates the glued-on vocoder nicely. :eek

That my friends looks like a VERY BAD recast of an Rt mod with an FX chin.

Why oh why cant these people just try and do a sculpt.

I Know its bloody hard to do as ive tried myself. But a recast is jusrt that. But in this case the person obviously doesnt seem to be able to do a good copy.
Its very distorted.

I get the impression these days that most Fx armors are recast from the original fx anyway.

cheers

Does anyone have large, clear photos of this newly updated FX?

They have been selling those for a while. I'm almost certain they are recast FX armor kits with a recast SDS helmets.

Besides the video clip was shot in Japan 7 months ago, how can that armor be brand new and improved.

The other inconsistency is FX armor is made in the states, why would it appear in Germany first?

Doods - I have one of the MR UK Exclusive storm trooper lids and i'm contemplating getting armor for it.

I'm wondering about the FX armor - or the RT armor that I've heard is much better. Comments?

Also, I'm 6'1, 175 pounds, 40 inch chest 33 inch waist and 34 inch inseam. I've heard that some armor sets don't always look "right" on folks. Any thoughs on what would look correct for someone of my build?
