Guys, I was 38 on monday, and was pleasantly surprised to recieve cash in a few cards, and a cheque off my mam. I got £210 in total, which was awesome for such an old git, who has seen birthdays come and go like they were regular days.

Well...

I spotted this guy on that auction site, and decided to have a gamble. I have always loved this piece, and admired them in shop windows, but the £500+ price tag alaways made my heart sink. In the last four days, we have had some real problems up here with powercuts, and today, as the auction was closing, the juice went. I was livid.

Half an hour later, the power came back on, and i logged on, expecting to see my bid blown outta the water by some rich kid, etc.

How wrong was I??

I won it, for £150, and to say I am chuffed is a mass understatement.

Have a look, and say hello to my latest lodger, without a doubt, a most excellent piece...

almost three feet in height, and every bit as awesome as he was when I saw him years ago... But which Vader is it?? Esb??

Wow, thats a great score for sure, congrats.

As it suffers from little inaccuracies here and there you cant say its definately based on one film 100%, although they have tried to go for ROTJ.

So answer to your question is "Jedi"

What a bloody palaver!!! I got an email from the seller, steve. But it want steve, it was Kath his wife, who had listed a load of his belongings in a "fit of rage"

She was sorry, and said I could not buy the statue, and could sort it out with her husband when he got back from his holiday.

If you click on the link, i put up, you will see that "she" is still selling her "husbands" stuff on ebay, and the auctions are going very well. Check the descriptions of the equipment, they are very concise, and detailed, and informative. For somebody selling someone elses stuff, she knows her stuff.

Well, I was not taking this crapola without a fight, I never do. The Macleod family motto on my coat of arms is "Hold fast"

I went into overdrive, and went all Darkside on their asses!!

The bottom line??

The guy never used a reserve, and his item ended on a fraction of what he wanted. Rules is rules, and I TOLD them I would be travelling north tonight to get it. They started acting all weird, saying I was not to collect it from their house, and that I should meet him in a B&Q carpark in Bamber bridge. So I agreed, and packed my trusty sledgehammer handle into the Hearse, as well as taking a very handy pal of mine. I call it insurance, I was entering into the unknown, and meeting a person whos emails were sketchy, shifty, and most unfriendly. If I was going to get a beating over a Vader statue, then I would give a good account for myself.

Well, I was met by a middle aged gentleman in a shirt and tie, and a shy teenage girl, who stayed in the car. I was met with no trouble, and finally got my Vader statue. The moral of this story is this-

If some goon on ebay pulls this on you, stand up to them, and remind them that they have entered into a legally binding contract, and that you have the law on your side.

It worked for me.

Guys, please dont think I am a nut. I have read it too many times, when people go to meet people to buy stuff from them, only to get savagely beaten up, and duped. I had a similar case once when buying a black Fender strat guitar, the guy was acting very shifty, and when we did meet and he saw I had a car full, in opposition to him having only a single companion, he actually sped outta the service station, and i never heard anything else from him. I am not naive, and had no intention of being another statistic. As Palpatine said "To prepare for a fall is not permitted, Sith do not fall"

Having said that, the Vader statue is something else, and I thinkit is ROTJ, you can see the allen key bolts on the sabre hilt. I will fire some more pics up of it later.

Man, it weighs a ton!!!
