Here's a HDPE TE helmet I built up for a mate of mine. He asked me If I could have a go at replicating the Brian R helmet (AKA TE1), so I thought I would give it a try. Although its not DEAD on, I'm pretty impressed with it. I have made a couple of minor changes since these pics were taken, the traps, and frown.. These are a bitch to build up due to the HDPE plastic, but a dream to trim! I painted the white with acrylic.. same stuff used on older cars. All the traps, tears, frown, and tubestripes have been hand painted using the hubrol paints. (Chipping is optional :p) I really enjoyed doing this one!! :)

First off here are a few pics of the finished helmet... scroll down to see pics of the build up.

Very nice looking helmet. I don't think I'd have the courage to rework an expensive helmet like that.

Thanks :)

It came as a kit so I didn't have much choice about reworking it.

There is a guy called TE1?

Could you explain this to us?

Matt is TE.

Then there is TE2 who continues some of Matt's work.

Who is TE1 in relation to TE?

He's prob. just referring to TE as TE1 because TE is the first?

BTW, nice job! What are the handcuffs for? :toothy

No, TE is a guy called Matt. He is a contractor for LFL and is brought into the archives at LFL, so he's one of few people who are intimiately familiar with the subtleties of more than one helmet. He was used by the LFL legal team as an Expert Witness in their lawsuit against Andrew Ainsworth / Shepperton Design Studios.

Someone who was an understudy to Matt took the title TE2.

I wasn't aware there as a TE1 and would be interested in knowing more.

I was referring to the Brian R HELMET. TE1 was the first name given to it (first helmet Matt had), just like TE2 for the 'set for stun' helmet (the second he had). Nower days they just go by the current owners name.

HaHA! never u mind what they're for Clutch!! :toothy

Cheers

Ohhh... so it's based on the actors like Brian, Steve, etc. Thanks for the explanation.

So did it arrive all separated when you worked on it, or did it arrive as a whole piece and you disassembled it?

I'm assuming it's a TE.
