Are there any good Death Star gunner helmets out there? I've seen the CA, but there doesn't seem to be many of those around. Anyone know?

Altmanns have made one, but iirc, it was under-sized.

I believe there are some guys in my garrison that are working on a full size one. I'll check with them and get back to you.

I had a CA and was impressed with it, and only sold mine a couple of months back.

As a kit its great fun and not too much hassle to assemble/paint

Cheers

It's a lovely design, but how does an operator wearing a helmet like that manage to even see the operational control panel under his own face?

Nice helmet Jez.

Do you know if CA is still making them? Their site doesn't seem to be live anymore.

Thanks Darth Fetty - not sure if they are still made or not. I got mine a couple of years ago along with a Rebel Fleet Trooper (which I'm just finishing).

Mac - they dont have to be able to see - all they do is pull down on a freaking great big lever and planets explode :lol

Cheers

Jez

I know this thread has grown cold, but I'm just discovering it for the first time.

The site shut down months ago. I believe that Greg and his partner at CA dissolved their working relationship. Greg planned to reopen under another name and to offer the DSG helmets at that time, but to the best of my knowledge that hasn't happened yet. I know he was dealing with some health problems, too, which might have delayed his plans for a new site.

Very nice, Jez.

I was after CA to get one of these for months, without luck. I finally opted for an SDS when Andrew started offering them a month ago. The SDS is lovely, too. The antenna extends horizontally backwards rather than vertically as in your photo of the CA.
